Another Disney snack might be MUCH harder to get right now.

Snacks and drinks have been disappearing all over Disney World lately. At Oga’s Cantina, the Fuzzy Tauntaun has disappeared for the time being. We’ve also seen the Gingerbread Caramel Cookie Sandwich go missing from EPCOT, and the Cheshire Cat Tail go away from Magic Kingdom. Supply issues have caused another Disney snack to vanish from EPCOT (specifically over at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe) and we’re sharing all the details.
If you’re looking for a delicious sweet treat while in EPCOT, Kringla Bakeri og Kafe (located in the Norway pavilion) can be an amazing place to stop. It’s full of freshly baked desserts, including favorites like the famous school bread and the somewhat divisive Lefse.
Back to school…school bread…we had to!
But there’s another iconic treat you’ll usually find here — the Troll Horn!

If you’re not familiar with these beauties, they are puff pastry horns filled with cream, usually an orange marmalade cream.

Back in January, we actually saw that these had been removed from the menu. The Cast Members we spoke to at the time indicated that they were experiencing supply chain issues. Reportedly they were having trouble getting a particular ingredient needed to make this sweet treat. At that time, the troll horns were expected to not be available until at least the end of February.

Not too long after we spotted this menu change and heard about the ingredient issues, we saw the troll horns make a brief reappearance at Kringla. But then they disappeared again!
We kept checking back at Kringla during our EPCOT trips over the last few months and (generally) when we checked Troll Horn was still missing. During those trips, the Cast Members would typically just indicate that the troll horn was simply not available that day.Â

But during a more recent trip, we got a bit of a different response from the Cast Member we spoke to. The Cast Member we spoke to during a more recent trip said that the troll horns were actually “temporarily discontinued.” The Cast Member echoed statements we’ve heard before that they were having issues getting the ingredients to make these troll horns. For now, the Cast Member indicated that these would be gone for the foreseeable future.
BUT it does seem to be a temporary discontinuance that should last only until they can get the necessary ingredients once more. The Cast Member told us that once the troll horns do come back, it’ll probably be something they’ll make a “big deal” out of since guests repeatedly ask for them.
Of course, keep in mind that all of this is just information relayed to us by a Cast Member. The situation is subject to change at any time!
Kringla Bakeri og Kafe
Still, if you’re a super Troll Horn fan, be aware that grabbing one of these over at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe might be much more difficult right now. We’ll keep an eye out for any change there and definitely let you know what we find.
In the meantime, you can still pick up the popular School Bread sweet treat at Kringla. Looking for more desserts to snack on in EPCOT? Might we suggest a gelato treat that’ll have EVERYONE around you jealous? (You can grab that in Italy). Or you can stop by one of our favorite spots, Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, to pick up a beignet, pain au chocolat, or a macaron! DFB nooooo!!! Not the Troll Horn! Do something! This is an actual legitimate reason for a cast member walk out! Those things are amazing!!
Wish they would bring back Beaver Tails!!!! They were in Canada and were the best!!!!
So are the Troll Horn ingredients only made in one certain factories and distributed by only one supplier? You’d think they could get all what they need elsewhere from other vendors and suppliers. The “due to supply issues” is a worn out excuse, because unlike one baby formula factory in the U.S., there is plenty of manufactures and suppliers to fulfill their needs. It seems that a lot of companies are too cheap to get the supplies and goods they need elsewhere.
If Disney hired bakers they would not need a supply chain. They could produce themselves and never run into this issue.
