The Disney Wish — Disney’s newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet — recently embarked on its maiden voyage. We got to check out the ship and see all the new restaurants, entertainment, merchandise, and rooms on board.
The Disney Wish
For Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members hoping to sail on this new ship next year, you will be able to use your points to book a room on board. We’ve got all the information about points and pricing here!
When DVC members join the club, they’re allotted a specific number of points each year. They “pay” for Disney hotel rooms using the points, and different hotel rooms cost different amounts of points.
For example, booking a stay at Disney World’s new Star Wars hotel costs quite a bit more than a standard DVC room at a different hotel. DVC members can use those points during that year or bank them in order to have extra points the following year. In addition, members can pull points from the upcoming year and use them early.

Let’s take a look at what it’ll cost for DVC members to book their stay on the Disney Wish in 2023. Here’s a quick spoiler alert: it’s NOT cheap.

It’s first important to note that there are 4 seasons of sailing that will cost different amounts of points: Value, Regular, High Regular, and Peak. See the chart below for what dates are considered in which season for this cruise.

Now onto how many points you’ll spend for each season. We’re looking first at the 3-night Bahamas cruise from Port Canaveral.
- Standard Inside Stateroom: 105 to 171 points per person
- Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom: 116 to 183 points per person
- Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom: 122 to 184 points per person
- Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 129 to 193 points per person
- Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 159 to 209 points per person
- Concierge Family Stateroom: 224 to 335 points per person
- Concierge Suite: 301 to 733 points per person
- Concierge Royal Suite: 762 to 1346 points per person
- Concierge Tower Suite: 935 to 1544 points per person

Wow! Just to put those numbers into perspective, a stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort (a Deluxe resort) costs around 14 DVC points per night. Standard staterooms on the Wish are pretty pricey already, but those Royal Suites and the Tower Suite are VERY expensive.

Now let’s move on to the Disney Wish 4 Night Bahamas Cruise. The dates for these cruises differ due to this cruise being a night longer than the other.

- Standard Inside Stateroom: 132 to 233 points per person
- Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom: 146 to 248 points per person
- Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom: 151 to 250 points per person
- Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 160 to 264 points per person
- Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 190 to 286 points per person
- Concierge Family Stateroom: 294 to 480 points per person
- Concierge Suite: 396 to 1052 points per person
- Concierge Royal Suite: 1075 to 1879 points per person
- Concierge Tower Suite: 1273 to 2149 points per person

An oceanview Family staterom the minimum is 122 a night for 3 nights. 366 points at $207 a point is over 75k ..whew!
I have completed 10 DCL experiences on all 4 ships. 9 with DVC points, and yes they are very pricy when compared to some of the other cruise company’s, as much as double the price and more. But Disney does give you more and charge you more….but…I am booked on the Wish in October. I am very concerned that the Wish will not be able to meet or exceed my expectations when compared to the Magic, Fantacy and other ships. I was blown away on the Magic during an inaugural year voyage and have enjoyed 9 of the 10 cruises with Disney, but the Magic is beginning to wain. My last voyage in Feb 2022 on the Fantacy was just so so and I was dismayed at how many DVC guests who were not overly impressed. I hope the Wish can reignited the Disney Magic and I am cautiously optimistic for October.
