How long would you wait for a popular ride in Disney World?
We’ve seen multi-hour waits often for rides like Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. But one ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today has surprised us the most because…wait for it…this ride had a FIVE-HOUR WAIT.
Okay, so it’s no secret that Rise of the Resistance is one of Disney World’s most popular — if not THE most popular — ride in the resort. The wait time we saw TODAY, though, shows just how popular it is (and remember that this is for a Saturday in Hollywood Studios). It’s currently at 305 minutes, which amounts to OVER five hours!
We almost couldn’t believe our eyes when checking it on the My Disney Experience app. But we walked by the ride’s entrance today to double-check! We would also like to remind you that there are no bathrooms in this ride’s queue, and five hours is…a LONG TIME.
The ride was closed when the park first opened, so this could be a big reason why the wait time is this long. Also, anyone who had an Individual Attraction Selection with a time while the ride was closed can now redeem that Lighting Lane access any time throughout the day. This is also likely a big reason why the standby line is so long.
When the line is like this, you could save a LOT of money by purchasing Individual Lightning Lane Access through Disney Genie for this ride, which is $15 today. Those Lightning Lanes do sell out quickly, but if this ride is a priority for you and your family, we highly recommend trying to get one.
Five. Hour. Wait. for Rise of the Resistance 🤯
I just…no words. Would you get in line? 👀 pic.twitter.com/R4N2w1qBbG

We did the math: a one-day ticket to Disney World is around $130 right now. The park is open for 12.5 hours. If you spend FIVE HOURS in line for Rise of the Resistance, it’s costing you about $52 of your park ticket to ride. So paying $15 for Lightning Lane access saves you money because in this case, time certainly IS money.

Just to let you know, my husband had to go to the bathroom while in line one time and a cast member took him and brought him back to me.
Very nice I’d say!

I’m not there, but a five hour wait tells me this LL program isn’t working well for whatever reason. I didn’t see anyone in the LL entrance in the picture either. Does anyone have data on how many LL’s are available per day for this attraction? It’s speculation from this point about why more aren’t sold when there’s no one in the LL while there’s a 5 hr wait in standby.
We went recently (mid-June) and got on through the LL in 15 minutes or less, twice (over different days). The standby lane was typical at those times, roughly two-three hours. 15 minute wait vs 2-3 hrs, and LL’s were sold out?

Since I’m local and DVC, there is no way I would EVER wait that long for any ride! But I do understand for folks and their once in a lifetime trip. Wow just wow … over 5 hours 😳😳😳

This is truly a “nobody goes there anymore ’cause it’s too crowded” situation. We are AP holders but would never deal with that especially in this heat.
