Here at DFB, we go to the Disney World theme parks every day so we can bring you all the latest updates and news!
Meet and greets are returning to the parks left and right, with Merida(!) now available to meet in the Magic Kingdom. On top of that, shows like Festival of the Lion King are returning to “normal” in many ways, and who can forget about all of the new merchandise we’ve seen lately? Now, we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to take a look at the latest updates!
Animal Kingdom Food Updates
Let’s start with the food! Nomad Lounge, the lounge connected to Tiffins has gotten two newer menu items. First up is The Land salad, which is available for $12 without protein, $22 with protein. The salad has been available at Tiffins for a while as an appetizer but is a newer addition over at Nomad Lounge. Fun fact: it utilizes produce grown at EPCOT’s Living with the Land!
Also new to the menu is the coffee creme anglaise served with this spot’s iconic Churros. The churros themselves aren’t new and the vanilla creme has stuck around, but the strawberry sauce that was served with them has been replaced with coffee creme!
For $9 you get a decent number of churros and the two dipping sauces. We’ll be sharing a FULL review of these items soon, so stay tuned for that!

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates
Dino Institute Shop
We saw two new-to-us shirts at the Dino Institute Shop. First up is this shirt that says “Not On My Level.” It is a gray shirt and has two brachiosauruses and sleeves that are shorter than a short sleeve, but a tad longer than a tank top. It is $24.99.
Also at the Dino Institute Shop, we saw this shirt that says “Check Yourself Before You T-Rex Yourself.”Â
We saw this slogan before on a differently styled shirt, but this one is a dark blue v-neck with a T-Rex skeleton. You can grab it also for $24.99.
Island Mercantile
At Island Mercantile, we saw a couple of new merchandise items for the Pixar movie Lightyear, which you can start streaming on Disney+ soon! First, we saw this kids’ button-down shirt that kind of looks like a work shirt. We’ve seen this before in Disneyland, but now it’s made its way here. You can grab it for $39.99.
We also saw these kids’ pants, as well. They are gray with orange detailing.
We saw these pants in Disneyland before also, but now you can grab them from Island Mercantile for $29.99.
Discovery Trading Company
Finally, we saw this Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction “it’s a small world” Loungefly backpack at Discovery Trading Company. We’ve seen this backpack online and we’ve seen the other items in this collection around the parks, but the backpack has been a little more elusive.
The bag itself is a mixture of pastel colors like pink, blue, and purple, with sequins and the iconic “it’s a small world” face on one of the two Mickey ears. You can grab this bag for $85.
And that’s what’s new at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! If you’re heading to Disney World soon, there’s a lot going on all over at the parks and resorts. For example, MagicBand+, the successor to MagicBand, is debuting on July 27th and we have information about the pricing for the bands, as well as the interactive properties that will come with it. We also have a step-by-step guide you can use to set up your MagicBand+.
If you’re looking for more Disney merchandise, check out the two new Disney Starbucks cups that just dropped online, or the popular Haunted Mansion spirit jersey we’ve seen in the parks that’s now available online, too. And as always, make sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World news and information!
