The amount of new food in Disney World is pretty overwhelming…in the best way possible, of course.
You can bite into something new virtually every single day, thanks to the 2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival eats, Disney Springs’ Flavors of Florida items, and summertime offerings. But right now, we’re stepping away from the more seasonal food to try some new menu additions over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
We recently made our way over to Nomad Lounge (one of our favorite spots to grab an appetizer and drink and relax in the parks) to try out The Land Salad for $12 (or $22 with protein).
Our salad had grilled chicken (we added protein), arugula, radishes, cucumber, baby grape tomatoes, eggplant, and a lemon and lime zest vinaigrette. This all sat on top of a tomato puree base with garlic, olive oil, cayenne, and paprika. And while these were the ingredients in our salad, the Cast Member told us that they do change slightly every couple of days, depending on what’s being provided from The Land Pavilion in EPCOT. (How cool?!)
If this sounds familiar, it’s because Tiffins also has the same salad as an appetizer option! So it’s not really “new” new, but is newer to the Nomad offerings. If you don’t see it on the menu, be sure to ask a Cast Member about it.
This was an incredibly light salad, which hit the spot for us, as it was a hot day. The chicken had a nice char on it, which added to the flavor of the salad. There wasn’t a ton of dressing, so without the tomato puree base, there wouldn’t have been a ton of flavor. But the tomato base really made this salad stand out in comparison to other Disney salads and it gave it a slight kick, which we loved!
The salad did need to be tossed quite a bit to incorporate the tomato base though, so be sure to mix things up if you want to spread out that flavor into the rest of the salad. And the chicken was a little chewy, so just keep that in mind before ordering.
Still, we think that if you’re looking for a light salad on a hot day that is not the same as the more traditional salads you’re used to eating around Disney (PLUS eat food from Living with the Land), this is a good choice. But if you’re a person who loves a lot of salad dressing or you don’t like tomato-based purees, you might want to skip (or ask for more/less of some of those ingredients).
But that’s not the only item we tried — we also had the Churros with Coffee Crème and Vanilla Crema! These are the normal churros we’re used to over here, except they replaced the Strawberry Dipping Sauce with the Coffee Crème!
The churros were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside — exactly what you want from a churro. The Vanilla Crema was creamy and heavy but in a good way. And the Coffee Crème was also exactly what we were hoping for — packed with that coffee flavor.
The sauces were perfectly sweet without being overpowering. Overall, if you love churros and coffee, this is a snack you should definitely add to your must-get list! But beware: that coffee flavor is strong. It essentially tastes like a hot cup of coffee that got cold (in terms of its potency) — a good thing for coffee fans, but not a good thing if you hate coffee!
Overall, we enjoyed both of these options. However, if you’re looking for something different or potentially more filling, you may want to hop over to Satu’li Canteen to customize a bowl, or grab some barbecue options at Flame Tree Barbecue.
Heading to EPCOT? You could try the Pepperoni Pizza Roll from Sunshine Seasons instead. Or, at the same location, try out the Mediterranean Vegetable Sandwich!

Do the curros count as a snack if you have the DDP?
