Minnie ears? Check. Rain gear? Check. Water bottle? Check. Sounds like you’re almost ready for your Disney World trip! But there might be one thing you’re forgetting.
Disney World is constantly changing, which means that rides, attractions, and hotels are being updated all the time. That also means that sometimes certain areas have to close for a while so that those updates can be made. It can be really sad to finally make it to your favorite attraction, only to realize that it’s not available during your trip! So to help you prepare for your next visit, take a look at everything that won’t be available next week in Disney World.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in Magic Kingdom, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet. This closure has been ongoing for YEARS now.
Construction over near Tomorrowland on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster has interrupted the Railroad’s tracks. Although we’ve spotted some testing and Cast Member training for the Railroad, we’re not expecting it to open until the TRON construction is finished.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle is an attraction where guests can visit Belle and hear the story of Beauty and the Beast. It’s currently closed, and Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date yet.
In the meantime, you can visit with princesses over at Princess Fairytale Hall, or meet Merida, Snow White, Jasmine, and other princesses at various locations around this park.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
This character meet-and-greet spot is still closed, and it doesn’t have a specific opening date yet.
Previously, guests could meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy here, but it’s been closed for a while now. Disney has said that it will reopen sometime “in the coming months,” so we’ll be keeping a close eye on this spot and will let you know as soon as it returns.
Harmony Barber Shop
The Harmony Barber Shop will reopen this week! You can visit once again beginning on July 31st.
If you wanted to get your hair cut here, you can book a reservation now. Keep in mind that some price increases recently hit the barbershop.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will reopen next month in Magic Kingdom, on August 25th. This salon is where kids ages 3 to 12 can be transformed into Disney princes and princesses.
Note that Disney hasn’t announced an opening date for the Disney Springs or Grand Floridian Resort Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations — the August reopening date is just for the Magic Kingdom location.
Find out when Magic Kingdom will open EARLY in August.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
A couple of long-term closures are continuing in Hollywood Studios. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is scheduled to be closed for all of next week and indefinitely into the future. Disney hasn’t given any updates about a potential reopening date.
If you’re looking for a Little Mermaid-themed attraction, head to Magic Kingdom to ride Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid.
Fantasmic!
Although we know that Fantasmic! will reopen at some point this year, we still don’t have a specific return date for this popular nighttime show.
We’ll continue to watch for an update about its reopening!

EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
Right now, the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is going on in this park! We’ve reviewed EVERY food booth and already decided which snacks are the BEST. One of the only negatives about this festival is that the Appleseed Orchard food booth has taken over the space where a film attraction — Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 — usually runs. As a result, that film cannot play.
Instead, you can visit the theater to find an Apple Crumble Tart and several apple-flavored drinks. We’re expecting Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 to be unavailable until the festival ends, which will be on November 19th.

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is still closed, and it has been for almost all of 2022. Disney hasn’t announced yet when it could reopen.
But Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park — is still open to guests! You can check out that park if you’re looking for a way to cool off during your next trip.
Check out Typhoon Lagoon here!
Those are all of the scheduled refurbishments for this coming week, but remember that unplanned closures can happen as well. Check out our list of all the rides that close when it storms so that you know which attractions to avoid in that scenario. If a ride goes down, keep watching the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens. You can usually catch that ride with a lower wait time if you get there soon after it reopens!
