It may still be fall, but we’re already thinking about the holiday season in the Disney parks!
Over in Disney World, we can expect Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays to bring us all sorts of exclusive entertainment and fun. But over in Disneyland, the parks will be transformed into The Merriest Place on Earth yet again — and we’re sharing all the details!
The holiday season is right around the corner, and Disney just announced a whole slew of entertainment and MORE coming to Disneyland Resort from November 11th through January 8th.
Get ready for some festive fun over at Disney California Adventure, where guests can enjoy holiday decor including a 50-foot Christmas Tree on Buena Vista Street and “automotive holiday embellishment” in Cars Land. Not only that, but “World of Color — Season of Light” is returning, a special holiday version of the popular show.
The Disney Festival of the Holidays will showcase celebrations from a variety of cultures, like Christmas/Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. Guests can enjoy festival marketplaces featuring delicious foods and drinks — and the Sip and Savor Pass will return, allowing you to taste your way through the fest. Don’t forget the holiday concerts at the Palisades Stage in Paradise Gardens Park!
Some of the entertainment at this festival will include Tina and The Sounds of Celebration, the Mariachi Divas, Mostly Kosher, Blue13 Dance Company, and Phat Cat Swinger and the Mistletoes.
“Mickey’s Happy Holidays” will have characters marching along with the Holiday Toy Drummers, while the “Disney Viva Navidad!” street party will have Mickey and Minnie in their festive fiesta attire as well. Mirabel is coming back to Paradise Gardens Park, and you can meet her right before meeting Santa Claus on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
Over in Disneyland Park, a 60-foot tall Christmas tree will be the focus of Main Street, U.S.A., while Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle will “enchant from day to night.” The daily musical procession “A Christmas Fantasy” featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Minnie, Mickey, Santa, and more will delight guests as well. Santa will be greeting guests at Critter Country.
Mickey and Minnie will be getting some new holiday outfits, which they’ll show off in Town Square.
Disney is also bringing back the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Tour, which is a guided tour of Disneyland Park that gives “unique facts of how Disneyland celebrates the season” followed by a ride on “it’s a small world” Holiday. The tour also includes a reserved viewing area of the “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, wich holiday treats and a commemorative pin.
Guests will end the night in Disneyland with “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks — but not before potentially catching a Tomorrowland Terrace dance party with Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale! “it’s a small world” Holiday is returning this year, and the fan-favorite Haunted Mansion Holiday is coming back, too!
If you have a MagicBand+, Disney announced that it will light up with special colors and haptics during the “Believe…in Holiday Magic” and “World of Color — Season of Light” shows.
Guests visiting the Downtown Disney District can take in holiday decor and photo opportunities, plus musical entertainment and plenty of special offerings from shops and restaurants. All three Disneyland Resort Hotels will be decked out with Christmas trees, feature carolers and visits from Santa, and the Grand Californian gingerbread house will be returning.
At Disneyland Hotel, The Coffee House is going to feature an Indian chai Archisha Tea on the menu from October 17th, 2022, through January 9th, 2023. The Blue13 Dance Company will perform daily near The Coffee House from October 17th through October 24th.
Disney has announced that a lot of treats and specialty eats will be coming for the holiday season, including peppermint churros, peppermint donuts, loaded latkes, Holiday Grey Stuff, and more. The Pixar holiday popcorn bucket will also be returning!
Also NOTE: According to Scott Gustin, Merriest Nites will officially not be returning in 2022. Disney is taking this time to look for new ways to entertain guests.
