If you’ve been to EPCOT recently, you may have noticed that there are construction walls seemingly everywhere. That’s because this park is undergoing a MASSIVE transformation that will bring new attractions, experiences, and more.
Parts of this transformation are already complete, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and some are still ongoing like the walkthrough attraction Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana and the new festival areas. Today, we’re heading to EPCOT to bring you an update on what’s going on and take a look at what’s new!
EPCOT Construction Updates
‘Moana’ Attraction Construction
If you take a ride on the Monorail, you can get a great look at what’s going on behind the construction walls. We got an updated look at the construction for Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. The rock work is coming along, and there’s some scaffolding up on some of it, as well.
Journey of Water is going to be a walkthrough attraction that teaches guests all about the water cycle.

The Seas With Nemo and Friends
There’s a bit of construction happening over at The Seas Pavilion, as well. Firstly, when we were there recently, one of the escalators was broken. Guests were needing to take the stairs or elevator if they were heading down.
One of the exhibits at the Seas is also under construction.
The sign says that the exhibit is temporarily closed to “prepare for new aquatic species.”
Mitsukoshi
Mitsukoshi is the big store located in the Japan pavilion. This store is currently undergoing some construction in the front of the store on the right side, over near the main entrance. Some of this construction has been going on for quite a bit now.
There’s also a little bit of construction in the clothing area of the store, as well.

EPCOT General Updates
In exciting character news, Mulan AND Li Shang were meeting together in the China Pavilion recently.
We found them together inside the waiting area for Reflections of China, the pavilion’s show. A Cast Member told us that it is very rare to see them together.
