It may only be August but Disney World is already celebrating Halloween! (We’re not complaining.)
Whether you prefer to eat Halloween treats, shop for new merchandise, or check out all the decorations, there are so many ways to celebrate Halloween in Disney World. We’ve been trying all the spooky treats and now we have a Hocus Pocus Binx-inspired treat…although it’s NOT what we expected.
Now available at the Cheshire Cafe in Magic Kingdom is the Binx Pastry Tail for $5.79! Only…it’s not exactly what you think. Remember how the Cheshire Cat Tail was recently replaced by the Cheshire Cat Paw? Well, let’s just say this Binx treat is more of a Binx paw, too.
The Bix Pastry Tail is described as being drizzled with dark chocolate and topped with a Binx white chocolate piece, but since this is actually a bear claw and not a tail, it’s also filled with chocolate hazelnut and drizzled with purple icing.
It’s really cute, but it’s interesting that the menu still features the image of the cat tail versus the bear claw. Disney did not say whether the Cheshire Cat Tail was permanently replaced by the Cheshire Cat Paw, so we’re not sure whether we’ll ever see the “real” Binx Pastry Tail. Right now, you can only get the Binx Pastry “Tail” from Cheshire Cafe — the Cheshire Cat Paw is not currently being offered.
Sooo….the binx cat tail is still a binx bear claw 😂👀 at Cheshire Cafe. pic.twitter.com/npSbJCH5CC

So how did it taste?? We loved how tasty and fresh the white chocolate Binx was, but the icing on top was almost too sweet — although thankfully the dark chocolate balanced everything out.
Our pastry was buttery but not very fresh and slightly dry — although that might have been just this batch. The chocolate hazelnut filling helped with the dryness, but we were a little disappointed by the pastry and the change from tail to bear claw.
If you’re looking for a quick chocolate treat this can be a great option, but your mileage may vary depending on how fresh the pastries are that day. And if you’re looking for a tail pastry, you’re out of luck for now — but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any changes to this treat. If you’d rather skip this one altogether, check out the Oh My Gourd Cupcake from Main Street Bakery or grab some popcorn in the Mickey Mummy Popcorn Bucket!
