Disney World certainly knows how to celebrate Halloween!
We don’t mind — in fact, we’ve been checking out all the frightening and festive decor all around Magic Kingdom, and we’ve even tried a few of the Halloween snacks you’ll find in the parks too! Speaking of Halloween eats, we’re bringing you our review of a NEW burger from one Disney World spot that is spine-chillingly spicy!
Greetings from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland! This quick-service spot is serving up a spicy new savory snack — the Bayou Burger! This is a flame-broiled 1/3-pound Angus burger topped with jalapeño pimento cheese, crispy andouille sausage, and garlic pickles.
You also get a choice of sides (we got regular fries), all for $12.99.
Honestly, Disney, you had us at “burger topped with sausage” but we were REALLY sold with the pimento cheese. It sounds like a lot going on all on one burger, but we typically find Cosmic Ray’s burgers to be pretty plain and uninspiring — so we were willing to give it a shot.
And boy, are we glad we did. Where are our spice-loving friends?! This burger is definitely for you! The patty wasn’t anything too special — your typical Disney quick-service burger, but the addition of the smoky and spicy andouille sausage gave this a nice flavor profile.
The jalapeño pimento cheese was rich and salty without being overpowering, and had a real kick to it that you’ll love. There was a lot of cheese as well, so if you’re not a fan of overly cheesy burgers you might not love just how much there really is on here.
We can’t say enough good things about these garlic pickles either — they were the perfect sour and sweet addition to this smoky, spicy, savory dish. We honestly wish there were more of these served on the burger because they were that good. This is definitely a step up from your typical theme park burger!
If you love burgers and spice, you should definitely check out the Bayou Burger from Cosmic Ray’s — it was surprisingly spicy for Disney food! But, we wouldn’t recommend this burger for kiddos or those who can’t handle the heat as it is pretty spicy. Overall, though, we really enjoyed this and would get it again.
