Trick or Treat! Disney World is already bringing out the spooky vibes. The pumpkins are out, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets have been on sale for months now, and those fall flavors are popping up all over the parks.
We’ve been in Magic Kingdom ALL DAY and NIGHT to get the dish on all of the special Halloween snacks, so you can know which treats to prioritize during your visit. Let’s check out an EXCLUSIVE ice cream sandwich now!
If you’ve had your fill of pumpkin spice, candy corn, and sweet/sour apple flavors already (ALREADY?! It’s barely AUGUST! There’s still a LOT of Halloween season left!), then head over to Main Street, U.S.A, and pop into the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for more of a classic snack that just got a little dressed up for Halloween.
The Monster Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich (for $6.49) is made with 2 monster cookies filled with vanilla ice cream. Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is no stranger to ice cream sandwiches, and they don’t skip on those cookies. The cookies are MONSTERS, meaning that they’re HUGE! If you want a snack that eats like a meal, this is the one for you. But let’s see how it tastes!
We can confirm what you probably already suspect about this treat — it’s VERY sweet! The ice cream is plain vanilla — the iconic flavor you can always find at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor — and the sprinkle-covered cookies are classic sugar cookies. No unusual flavors here!
Initially, we were worried that there wasn’t enough ice cream in our sandwich — it looked a little bit sad sandwiched between the 2 MASSIVE cookies.
However, once we smashed the cookies together to bite/cut the sandwich, the ice cream evened out and it was actually a pretty good ratio of cookie to ice cream.
Let’s address the elephant in the room now. Those eyeballs on top are kinda cute or maybe a little bit creepy depending on who you ask. But a word of WARNING about the eyes: they’re hard as a rock. They don’t taste great either (they were a little bit chalky), so we’d recommend snapping some cute pics and then removing them before you eat the sandwich.
Overall, this is a great treat for anyone with a big sweet tooth! We think kids will love the simple flavors, and we appreciated the cute decorations as well. Note that this ice cream sandwich is ONLY available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so you’ll need a party ticket if you want to try it.
