Sending a big ol’ “Boo To You” because Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has finally started in Disney World!
We already brought you a roundup of EVERYTHING that is returning to the party this year, and now we’re at Magic Kingdom for this year’s first party! We’ll be bringing you a look at the crowd levels and wait times, ride overlays, and more, but for now, let’s take a look at all of the entertainment and characters available during the event!
Characters
After-hours parties are great opportunities to meet rare and unique characters that aren’t often available for meet and greets during the day. You’ll also get the opportunity to see characters from afar during things like the Boo to You Parade and the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular among others.
Some characters will also just be walking around, like the Country Bears! We found them in Frontierland.
They’re ready to give you a hug!
We also saw Madame Renatta over at the Haunted Mansion!
She’s really fun to interact with!
And, we spotted Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
One of the most exciting characters we saw was Stitch dressed up like Elvis!
And, we saw George Sanderson from Monsters, Inc. — he’s the one that has the infamous “2319” happen to him!
Jafar also made an appearance over in Adventureland…
…and so did Genie and Jasmine!
Then, we saw Alice and the Mad Hatter.
They’re a really fun time to talk to!
We’ll be updating this post with more characters we find at the party! Remember, there are spots on the party map that tell you where characters will be.
Entertainment
The party also has a lot of unique entertainment options! Let’s take a look.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
These are the fireworks specially for the Halloween Party. It includes special effects, lighting, projections and, of course, fireworks. The fireworks are hosted by Jack Skellington from the popular Halloween movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The show was supposed to start at 10:15PM, but was delayed due to weather, and actually started around 10:30PM.
The fireworks show definitely lives up to its name — it’s spectacular!
You’ll see all kinds of different projections on Cinderella Castle during the show…
…along with fireworks (duh!).
We saw projections like spider webs…
…ghosts…
…and Mickey and Friends!
It’s definitely a show you don’t want to miss if you love fireworks!
But, there’s more entertainment to enjoy!
Boo To You Parade
The Boo To You Parade is offered twice each party night at 9:15 and 11:15PM. Unfortunately, on the opening night of the party, the first parade was canceled due to rain. But, the second parade happened!
Right before the parade happens, you’ll see Max Goof dressed up as Powerline with his 90s crew on Main Street, U.S.A.!
Max does NOT walk the entire parade route. He comes out on Main Street about 10-15 minutes before the parade begins.
A good place to stand to see him would be in front of Main Street Confectionery!
Then, the parade kicks off with the Headless Horseman riding on the parade route!
He’s carrying his pumpkin head!
Then, you’ll see the parade name followed by a ton of characters!
The parade features characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes, plus some unique characters like the grave digging ghosts from the Haunted Mansion.
There are some pretty awesome floats in the parade, like this giant pirate ship!
We also saw Tinker Bell…
…some villains…
…Wreck-It Ralph…
…along with Vanellope…
…Mickey Mouse…
…and his Friends…
…the skeleton band…
…the hyenas…
…the Hitchhiking Ghosts…
…the ghosts from the Haunted Mansion ballroom…
…and some classic characters!
Make sure you look at your party map to see what the showtimes are for you event!
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
This is a stage-show that takes place on the Cinderella Castle stage. During the show, the Sanderson Sisters call upon other Disney villains to help them create the Hocus Pocus Party Potion! The show was supposed to take place at 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight! The first show was delayed due to weather, but did take place, but the second one was canceled. However, the midnight show did go on!
You’ll see characters like Dr. Facilier…
…Oogie Boogie…
….and Maleficent.
It’s a truly spectacular show!
The Sanderson Sisters certainly are back.
Dance Parties
This is a Disney Junior-themed dance party that takes place over in Storybook Circus. Music will be played and your kiddos will get to dance around with their favorite Disney Junior characters.
When we went by there wasn’t much activity! But, this could totally change depending on when you visit the party. There were a bunch of people over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, though!
This is the ZOM-BEATZ BASH Dance Party, and there were eve some characters from Disney Channel’s Z-O-M-B-I-E-S movies at the party!
Other Entertainment
You can also find the Cadaver Dans over in Frontierland! These are the Dapper Dans who have put on their Halloween costumes to sing some spooky songs!
They put on a show several times throughout the night — make sure you check out your party map to see the showtimes!

I wonder if they’ll get back any of the missing character meet and greets like the grave diggers or Tarzan etc.
