Are you feeling the fall spirit?
So yeah it’s still technically summer, but we are ready for fall! This month saw the start of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the release of new Halloween merchandise, and the arrival of new fall snacks and treats. It may still be 98 degrees outside, but we are super excited to see these 3 returning autumn-themed desserts in Disney World!
Today, Disney World surprised us with three sweet treats to help us get into the Halloween spirit! The first one we found was the Mickey Pumpkin Vanilla Cupcake in Animal Kingdom at Zuri’s Sweets Shop.
This dessert is a classic vanilla cupcake topped with orange and green icing and chocolate Mickey ears. Although it may look like fall, it doesn’t really taste like it. We found that, despite the nice colors, the icing had just a classic vanilla icing flavor and not pumpkin like we had hoped.
While we think it leans a little heavy on the icing, we still liked this cupcake. For $5.19, we think it’s tasty but not super special in any way. If you’re looking for unique flavors, this is probably not your best bet. Instead, you may want to try the OTHER pumpkin cupcake we found recently, which has more exciting flavors.
Heading over to Magic Kingdom, we found another pumpkin-themed treat!
This Pumpkin Rice Crispy Treat was $5.49 at the Main Street Confectionery, and it was a traditional rice crispy that had been colored orange and dipped in chocolate with a chocolate leaf design. The best part about this snack was how fresh it was! It tasted just like a normal rice crispy, and we think the chocolate adds a nice layer of sweetness and richness to the vanilla marshmallow flavor.
If you’re someone who loves a fresh rice crispy snack, you will love this one. However, if you’re someone who doesn’t like any added chocolate on top, you might be safer grabbing one of the year-round rice crispies in the premade bags.
Finally, over at Big Top Treats, we found a Minnie Spider Shortbread Cookie!
This cookie was $5.49, and it’s a traditional shortbread cookie with purple, black, and orange icing. We think the icing was perfectly sweet, which was a nice addition to the pretty basic shortbread. While we thought the cookie itself was a bit dry and crumbly, we really did enjoy the icing.
If you’re looking for something more flavorful, you might be disappointed in this simple cookie. But if you’re looking for a shareable treat, this could be a good choice!
Although the treats we got were pretty simple, we thought the basic flavors and cute decorations made them perfect for little kids or anyone who just wants a sweet treat. And we love seeing more Halloween treats in the parks! Make sure you’re following DFB for all of the latest treats and snacks updates in Disney.
