Whether you like to order groceries or you realize you forgot something important, there are ways to get deliveries straight to your Disney World hotel.
There are lots of convenient delivery options now, such as through Uber Ears, GrubHub, DoorDash, Amazon Fresh, Walmart, and lots more, and we’re here to talk about one of the most popular ways to get grocery deliveries — Instacart!
Download the App
This may seem like an obvious thought but just in case — before you get to Disney World, download the Instacart app through your app store! It will make your life easier if you sign up for a (free) account before your trip, and you can also opt to sign up for an Instacart+ membership for $9.99 per month or $99 per year for free delivery, reduced service fees, and more.
You don’t HAVE to sign up for the Instacart+ subscription to place an order, but it is something to consider if you plan to place regular orders. Who knows, you might end up using it once you get home too!
Enter the Address of Your Hotel
The next step is to enter the address of your hotel. If you aren’t sure what your hotel’s address is, Google is your friend, but most Disney World spots are under the zip code 32830. You can enter your room number on the second line and the hotel name under the business name.
And as for delivery instructions, you can specify where you’d prefer to meet the delivery person. It might make your life easier to set a pickup spot ahead of time so that you and your delivery person aren’t playing hide and seek when it’s time to get your order.
Select Your Store
You can choose from a variety of grocery and convenience stores near Disney World, including Publix, Sprouts, Target, and more. Most stores will list what time your items could be delivered, so you might want to check on a few stores in case your order is time sensitive.
Many grocery stores require a minimum spending amount, and you will likely be charged a delivery fee by Instacart as well as be expected to tip the driver. Instacart will break down all these fees for you before you complete your purchase so you won’t be surprised when your card is charged.
Select Your Items
Depending on what store you select, you’ll be able to shop for a variety of in stock items listed on Instacart, but keep in mind that sometimes things do end up out of stock — so it’s not a bad idea to set a backup item. Otherwise your Instacart shopper may select a replacement or issue you a refund.
If you’re 21 and over, you can also select alcohol from some stores, but keep in mind that you MUST be present for pick up if your order contains alcohol. You will need to show your delivery driver a photo ID AND pick up your order in person. Disney will NOT accept orders containing alcohol.
Select Delivery Date/Time
After you select your store and finish adding all your items to your cart, you can then choose a date and time for your delivery. When we checked, a $7.99 delivery fee was required, and we were able to select from several two-hour delivery windows.
Typically, you don’t have to be present at your hotel when your groceries are delivered (unless you’re ordering alcohol), although there is now a $6 fee (per package) if your hotel’s front desk/concierge desk accepts your package. If you prefer to pick up your package, you may be able to text your Instacart shopper to ask for replacement items or specify a place to meet for pick up.

Get Your Package
If you aren’t able to be present for delivery, you can typically pick up your package from the front desk/concierge desk throughout the day — but you may have issues if it’s late at night or if your package was placed in a locked mail room, as we’ve experienced in the past. If you stay for Magic Kingdom fireworks and don’t get back to your hotel until 1AM, you might have to wait to pick up your groceries the next day.
You can also arrange for your groceries to be delivered to your room by calling the concierge desk, but keep in mind that the fee for your Disney hotel to accept packages is $6 per package, regardless of whether you pick it up or opt for it to be delivered to your room. Most hotels will not refrigerate your items, so you may want to avoid perishable items or opt to pick up your package so you can place it in your room’s fridge right away.
And there you have it! That’s everything you need to know about ordering from Instacart to your Disney World hotel. Keep in mind that things change often, so your mileage may vary depending on where you’re staying and when you’re ordering. And don’t forget, if you’d rather do the shopping yourself, you could always book an rideshare service (or drive yourself) to take you to a nearby store.

Did I read this right… Disney Resort Hotels, which cost a fortune to stay at, are now charging a $6 fee to receive guest orders? Can that be true, one more bean counter inspired penny pinching change. What happened to the graciousness of staying at a deluxe resort where accepting a guest’s packages was standard? Oh how times have changed and NOT for the better.

A little off topic. Can I send a package to my resort with items for my grandson. To Hold until we check-in? I will try to have said package delivered on the day of arrival. Thank you.
