Before you head out on your next Disney World trip, let’s go through the checklist! Hotel reservations? Check. Park Pass Reservations and tickets? Double check. A list of all the best snacks and treats? Oh yeah. So what are you missing?
You may want to take a look at what’s NOT going to be available in Disney World before you leave for your vacation. That way, you’ll be prepared for the closures and they won’t come as a nasty surprise during the trip. To make that easy for ya, we’ve got a full list of what’s going to be CLOSED at Disney World next week.
Magic Kingdom
Liberty Square Riverboat
Although it isn’t listed on Disney’s refurbishments calendar, the Liberty Square Riverboat is not showing hours for August 22nd through September 1st.
It looks like the riverboat will begin running again on September 2nd.
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for about 3 years now, and Disney has still not announced when it will reopen.
We have, however, seen some promising signs that it could be getting closer to reopening. We’ve spotted the train running in the park as part of a test, and there were some Cast Members training for the ride recently as well! However, Disney’s website still doesn’t show any opening times for the railroad in the near future.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. is the gift shop at Space Mountain. Usually, you’ll walk through this shop on your way out after you’ve ridden Space Mountain, but right now visitors are being redirected to exit a different way because this shop is closed.
The reason for the gift shop’s closure is construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster. Disney hasn’t announced when Light & Power Co. might reopen, but it could remain closed until the coaster construction is complete. Disney also hasn’t announced an opening date for TRON, so we don’t know yet when that construction will end.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
This Fantasyland attraction is still closed, and — like many of the attractions on this list — it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
At Enchanted Tales with Belle, visitors could help Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast. If you’re looking for a Beauty and the Beast attraction, check out the stage show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead!
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
This character meet-and-greet spot is still closed, and it also doesn’t have a reopening date yet. However, Disney has announced that it will reopen sometime “in the coming months.” That announcement was made a while ago, so we’re expecting it to reopen any day now.
At Pete’s Silly Sideshow, you could previously meet characters like Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy in their circus outfits.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Exciting news! Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is reopening THIS WEEK! The boutique in Magic Kingdom will reopen on August 25th, and you can book your reservations now.
This boutique is a salon that transforms kids (ages 3 to 12) into Disney princesses and princes. Note that Disney has not yet announced when the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations at Disney Springs or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will open.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-a-Long Celebration
The Frozen Sing-a-Long Celebration is scheduled to be closed from August 22nd through September 9th. Disney has said that this closure is for “routine refurbishment.”
However, on Disney’s website, the show is still showing opening times on those dates, so it’s possible that this closure has been delayed. We’ll be sure to let you know what we see when the 22nd rolls around.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Disney’s Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is still closed in this park, and we don’t know yet when it will reopen. Disney has not announced when or if this show will return.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear any updates about this attraction.
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is scheduled to reopen sometime this year (in 2022), but Disney hasn’t announced specifically when that will be.
When it does return, the show will look a little bit different with new characters, stunts, and effects.
Will Fantasmic! return to Disney World soon? Here’s what we know.
EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
If you visit Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 right now, you won’t find a film about the beautiful country. Instead, you’ll find the Appleseed Orchard Food & Wine Festival booth! This booth has taken over the theater and is currently serving an apple crumble tart and a variety of apple-flavored drinks.
We’re expecting the movie to return after November 19th, which is when the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival ends.
See all of our REVIEWS of the 2022 Food & Wine Festival booths.
Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Kona Café has closed temporarily. Disney announced that the restaurant is expected to reopen sometime in fall 2022 with “an enhanced table-service experience.”
But during this closure, you will still be able to use the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go, with pickup right next to Kona Island.
Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is still closed right now, and it has been for almost all of 2022. However, guests can still visit Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park.
We recently wrote an update about what’s going on inside Blizzard Beach right now — you can read that here!

Hi! Do you know if Extended Evening Hours will extend all through 2023, or do they end with the 50th celebration?
Laurel Lane says
Is it just me or does it seem that the things they charge extra for (boutique) are reopening faster but things included in your ticket price don’t have an opening dates? Sorry, I’ve become very cynical lately with all that the Disney corporation is doing.

Just an FYI Belle is open for meet and greet we just saw her on our last visit back on Aug 10th
