It might still be summer in a lot of places, but Disney World is fully getting into the fall spirit!
There are pumpkins on Main Street, U.S.A., spooky treats to try, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back! So, you would think all of this would bring out a lot of people to the parks, right? Well — not so fast. It’s also back-to-school season, which means a lot of families are no loner on their summer vacations. If you’re wondering how this is affecting the crowds, let’s take a look at the wait times from last week to find out!
Magic Kingdom
Let’s head to Magic Kingdom! This week, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time with 55 minutes!
After that, we had Peter Pan’s Flight at 49 minutes, Splash Mountain at 40 minutes, Jungle Cruise at 39 minutes, Space Mountain at 33 minutes, Haunted Mansion at 30 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 29 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 27 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 24 minutes, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 23 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean at 19 minutes.
Next, we had Tomorrowland Speedway at 15 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid at 14 minutes, “it’s a small world” at 14 minutes, Mickey’s PhilharMagic at 14 minutes, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at 11 minutes, and Magic Carpets of Aladdin at 10 minutes.
Then, we saw Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini at 9 minutes, Dumbo the Flying Elephant at 7 minutes, Mad Tea Party at 7 minutes, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 6 minutes.
And rides that only had wait times in the single digits were Carousel of Progress at 4 minutes and Liberty Square Riverboat at 3 minute. Rides with no waits were Country Bear Jamboree, Tom Sawyer Island, Hall of Presidents, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
Remember, since Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is happening on select nights through the end of October, Magic Kingdom closes early on those days, typically at 6PM. You should definitely check the calendar when you’re making your Park Pass Reservations! But, we have also seen that the wait times during these days seems to be a lot lower than usual, so take that into consideration as well.
10 Not-So-Magical Truths in Disney World
EPCOT
Over in EPCOT, the ride with the longest average wait was Frozen Ever After at 61 minutes.
Then, we had Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at 60 minutes, Test Track at 58 minutes, Soarin’ at 29 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 25 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 11 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 10 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 9 minutes, The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 8 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 8 minutes, Living with the Land at 8 minutes.
Most of the theater shows in EPCOT had zero waits this past week! These included: Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China!
Over in EPCOT, remember that there are Extended Evening Hours on select nights. These usually take place on Mondays and last for 2 hours after park closing. These are available for all guests staying at a Disney World Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort, as well as a few other qualifying resorts like the Swan and Dolphin hotels. And, you can also get on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind during this time!

Hollywood Studios
Moving on to Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance had the highest average wait time this week at 105 minutes. So, while most of the big rides saw their wait times go down this week compared to last week, Rise’s went UP! What’s the deal, Rise?!
After that, we had Slinky Dog Dash at 80 minutes, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at 64 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 60 minutes, Toy Story Mania at 56 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 52 minutes, and Tower of Terror at 44 minutes.
And finally, we had Alien Swirling Saucers at 30 minutes, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at 15 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at 13 minutes, Walt Disney Presents at 13 minutes, and Muppet*Vision 3D at 10 minutes.
Hollywood Studios is a very popular park at Disney World, with a lot of long lines, as you can see. We’d suggest rope dropping this park if you want to have a good chance of avoiding some of those longer lines. You can also buy Disney Genie+ to make some Lightning Lanes to skip the regular lines.

Animal Kingdom
Hopping over to Animal Kingdom, the ride with the longest average wait time this week was Avatar Flight of Passage at 79 minutes.
Then, we had Na’vi River Journey at 47 minutes, Kali River Rapids at 36 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris at 36 minutes, Expedition Everest at 24 minutes, and DINOSAUR at 23 minutes.
Following behind was It’s Tough to Be a Bug at 9 minutes, Triceratop Spin at 6 minutes, The Boneyard at 0 minutes, and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at 0 minutes.
Animal Kingdom is a great park for you to visit if you’re a morning person! This park typically opens up before all of the others, and the earlier you get there, the better chance you usually have to seeing the animals being active. So, keep that in mind when you’re planning your trip!
Our NEW Tips for Saving BIG in Disney World!
That’s your look at the average wait times around Walt Disney World this week! We’re not sure why Rise of the Resistance got higher while the wait times of so many other rides dropped significantly lower, but it could have to do with the fact that Rise tends to break down a lot — so be prepared for that possibility!
