We can’t always predict things that might go wrong in Disney World, but we can certainly help you prepare!
Since the parks are changing pretty much constantly, it can be hard to keep up with the latest news. From restaurant openings to the latest attraction to astonish guests, something new is popping up almost every day. Don’t get caught by surprise on your next trip, and check out the latest construction updates from Disney World!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
Shapes! We’re seeing more shapes! Specifically, more geometric concrete walls are up in the TRON construction zone. From the looks of it, guests might have to wind their way through these areas somehow — but we’ll have to wait and see.
When it comes to an opening date on this project, Disney has (unsurprisingly) stayed quiet. It was originally scheduled to be completed by the start of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations, but as you can see…that didn’t quite come to fruition. Stay tuned for the latest updates!

EPCOT
Mitsukoshi
We finally know what’s going on over in the Japan Pavilion at Mitsukoshi — the floors are being refurbished!
Construction originally began on the right side of the store, and has now migrated over to the left side. We’ll keep an eye out and let you know if we hear of a completion date for this project!
Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
Okay, things are REALLY starting to get going over in the middle of EPCOT. Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is coming to the park, but could it be completed in time for the 40th anniversary of EPCOT on October 1st?!
Only time will tell, but Disney could be making an announcement any day now. Maybe we’ll hear something at the D23 Expo in September — stay tuned for updates!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Beverly Sunset Boutique
After being closed since November 2021 due to supply chain issues, Beverly Sunset Boutique has reopened in Hollywood Studios!
A Cast Member previously told us that the store remained closed from not having enough merchandise to stock the shelves, but we’re happy to report that has changed!

Disney Resorts
Polynesian Village Resort
In case you missed it, Kona Café has closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Right now, there’s no word on how long this closure will last so you’ll have to stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, you can grab a bite to eat at Tambu Lounge, Capt. Cook’s, Kona Island, or try getting a reservation at ‘Ohana or Trader Sam’s!
Construction is coming along (if you consider moving piles of dirt around construction) where the NEW Polynesian Village Resort hotel rooms, dining locations, and merch locations will be.
Right now, work is scheduled to be completed in late 2024, so stay tuned for updates!
BoardWalk Inn Resort
The NEW BoardWalk Deli is OPEN! It replaced the old BoardWalk Bakery, though you can still get a decent amount of baked goods here. We were there on opening day — read our breakfast review here and our lunch review here!
Right now, the BoardWalk Pizza Window is under construction! You can still grab a slice over at Trattoria al Forno in the meantime, though.
Disney hasn’t shared how long the window will be closed, but we’re keeping an eye out for updates.
Yacht & Beach Club
Construction is continuing over at Stormalong Bay, the shared pool at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. It shouldn’t impact your fun in the sun, though!
