Halloween season means new fall drinks at Starbucks, making plans for your incredible costume, and spooky movie watch parties. It also means that it’s time to get your boo basket ready!
In case you’re not familiar with boo baskets already, they’re a cute tradition where neighbors “boo” each other by leaving a basket full of goodies in front of the door, ringing the doorbell, and running away. If you get “boo’d,” you’ll swap out the goodies with new items and pass on the basket to someone else! Whether this is a time-honored tradition where you live or you want to start it up yourself, check out this guide on how to make a Disney-themed boo basket for under $30!
First, you’ll need the basket itself to hold the goodies. We found a Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas treat basket from Spirit Halloween that will do the trick.
The basket is made with paper and felt, and it has scenes from the movie on all four sides. You can order it for $9.99.

Or, if you’re going for a less spooky vibe for your basket, check out this Moana-themed candy bucket.
It has characters like Moana, Maui, Pua, and Hei Hei all over. This one is a little cheaper as well, at $7.99.

Now that you’ve got a bucket, it’s time to fill it up! We’ll start with an essential Halloween staple: CANDY. For this bucket, you can get any candy to do the job! There’s a 10 oz. pack of mini Hershey’s chocolate bars from Target for $4.99 that’ll work just fine.
This pack has mini bars of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, Krackel chocolate, and Mr. Goodbar candy. Dump some candy in the bottom, and we’ll add more goodies on top.

Spirit Halloween had a cute little Toy Story alien light-up pumpkin for just$4.99.
The pumpkin is about 4 inches tall and lights up bright green. It uses batteries, which are included. There are several other designs to choose from on Spirit Halloween, including other Toy Story characters like Woody and Hamm or some Nightmare Before Christmas characters like Lock, Shock, and Barrel.

Another great choice for this bucket is the Haunted Mansion pumpkin stencil book. The book comes with 7 different patterns for carving a Haunted Mansion-themed Jack-o-Lantern, including some hitchhiking ghosts, Madame Leota, or the ride’s name.
You can get the book for $4.99.

To complete the basket, you can add the Hitchhiking Ghosts cup, which is also a nod to the Haunted Mansion.
The plastic cup says “Beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts” and costs $2.99.

At this point, we’ve just about reached our budget of $30, but we found a bunch of other Haunted Mansion goodies at Spirit Halloween, so we’ll include some of those here in case you want to swap out any of the items we chose. First up is the Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts magnet.
This magnet says, “Beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts” and costs $4.99.

To highlight a different iconic quote from the ride, check out this “Look Alive” magnet.
It has a picture of the singing busts from the ride and costs $4.99.

And finally, we found some glow-in-the-dark Haunted Mansion window clings that your friends can use to decorate their house for the season!
There are various designs and quotes from the movie, including the singing busts, the hitchhiking ghosts, Madame Leota, and the bride. You can get the clings for $9.99.
