Ever wondered what it looks like when an EPCOT restaurant gets evacuated? Well, one of our friends got to experience that and we’re sharing the details with you.
Evacuations and emergencies can happen in Disney World — ranging from fire alarm situations to Skyliner crashes. Oftentimes, the situation is remedied quickly and guests are able to go on their way, but no matter the outcome, it’s important to be safe and cautious when these situations take place. On September 1st, a friend of ours witnessed an evacuation in EPCOT — let’s go over what we know.
A huge thanks to our good friend Jaime (@jim.disney on Instagram) who sent us this video. According to Jaime, there was a fire evacuation at Connections Eatery in EPCOT today. Check out the video below showing guests and Cast Members standing outside the restaurant.
As of 5:36PM ET, it showed that the video had originally been shared by Jaime about an hour ago. Not many details about the situation have been shared at this time.

But when we tried to build a mobile order, one of our team members could not seem to get past the loading screen. Another team member got past that screen, but was sent to another screen indicating that there were “no times available.”
If you’re in the park, be sure to check and see what the situation is like for you as things can change.
Evacuations and emergency situations like this can happen in Disney World and it’s important to be prepared for them. If you find yourself in the middle of a situation like this one, be sure to listen to the Cast Members around you and follow their evacuation instructions. You’ll want to be mindful of your surroundings and those around you, and remember to exit the area in a calm fashion.
Because things like this are unpredictable, you may want to have some backup plans when it comes to restaurants or rides, in case they do shut down for the remainder of the day.

Linda Stoddard says
Several years ago, my daughter and I were evacuated from the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland. The process involved response by the fire department as we needed a ladder to leave the ride. I can now tell the story that I was rescued by firemen from a flying pirate ship. Even unplanned adventures build memories.
