It’s no secret that Disney World can be CROWDED.
Thousands of people visit the parks daily, and those numbers only increase when it comes to special events and holiday weekends. We’ve seen quite the lull in crowds recently, but with Labor Day Weekend on the horizon, we could see a surge in attendance. We’re in the parks scoping everything out to help be prepared if you’re heading to Disney World this weekend, so let’s see what the crowds look like!
If you’re heading to Disney World this Labor Day Weekend, chances are you’re wondering just how busy it’s going to be. We were in the parks on Friday, September 2nd to see all the sights and sounds — and to check out what kind of crowds we’d be seeing before the official start of the holiday weekend.
At EPCOT, we walked in and were greeted by Spaceship Earth and a few different groupings of guests here and there, but didn’t see a whole lot of crowds just yet.
We made our way a bit further into the park and didn’t run into too much bottlenecking like we sometimes see due to the current construction taking place smack dab in the middle of the park.
And even over near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, EPCOT’s newest attraction, we weren’t shoulder to shoulder with people bumping into them! Could it be that Labor Day crowds are waiting until the weekend officially kicks off to head to the parks? Let’s see what crowds look like today elsewhere in Disney World.
Where are all the people?! We walked into a nearly empty Magic Kingdom this morning, and effortlessly walked down Main Street, U.S.A. without having to say, “Excuse me!” multiple times. It’s possible that crowds could start to trickle in as the day goes on, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
Even over near Gaston’s Tavern we didn’t see too many people.
We also stopped by Disney Springs to see what the crowds looked like there, and it did seem much more crowded than EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Disney Springs is usually pretty busy as it’s free to get into and offers excellent dining and shopping options, so this isn’t too surprising — but we’ve definitely seen it far busier before!
But, this could just be the calm before the storm — as Orlando International Airport (MCO) has already reported being busy today ahead of the travel weekend.
Not only that, but according to WKMG, MCO is also anticipating that this will be the busiest Labor Day Weekend for travel in years, so it’s possible that folks just haven’t arrived in Disney World yet!
It’s another busy #LaborDayWeekend! Remember to:
