Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in Magic Kingdom, and Disney hasn’t announced when it could reopen.

We recently spotted some engine testing, and Cast Members have been seen training at the attraction as well, so it seems like Disney is getting ready for a reopening. We’ll continue to watch for more updates on the railroad.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

Construction over on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster has shut down the Space Mountain gift shop, Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

This gift shop doesn’t have a reopening date yet, and it could remain closed until the TRON construction is finished. In the meantime, guests leaving Space Mountain are being redirected to use a different exit.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

This attraction in Fantasyland is still closed as well, and Disney hasn’t announced when it might reopen.

While it’s closed, you can usually spot Belle at the beginning of the Festival of Fantasy Parade, which runs through Magic Kingdom each day. Check the My Disney Experience app to see the parade times when you’re in the park.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

At Pete’s Silly Sideshow, guests could previously meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, who were all dressed like circus performers. However, the meet-and-greet location is currently closed.

Disney has announced that it’ll reopen sometime “in the coming months,” and they made that announcement a few months ago. So we’re expecting this spot to reopen soon!

Meet Ariel at Her Grotto

Another meet-and-greet location is also still closed in Disney World — Ariel’s Grotto. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot will reopen either.

But the nearby attraction Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid is still open for guests to visit.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

This Little Mermaid-themed stage show is still closed in Hollywood Studios.

Disney hasn’t announced when or if it will return, but we’re hoping to hear an update soon — maybe at the D23 Expo next week? We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear any news.

Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is still closed as well, but Disney has promised it will return this year.

That return is likely going to happen soon, as Disney has announced that Cast Member rehearsals have already begun!

EPCOT

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360

The Canada Far & Wide theater is actually still open in EPCOT, but it’s currently being used by the Appleseed Orchard Food & Wine Festival booth. Instead of a movie about the natural beauty of Canada, right now you’ll find an apple crumble tart and a variety of apple-flavored drinks at this location.

The movie will likely return after November 19th, which is when the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival ends.

Disney World Hotels

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the quick service restaurant Kona Café is temporarily closed. It’s going to reopen sometime in fall 2022 with “an enhanced table-service experience.”

In the meantime, you can still use the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go. You’ll pick up your food right next to Kona Island.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

At the Grand Floridian Resort, Narcoossee’s is currently closed. This restaurant closed back in July and isn’t expected to reopen until sometime next year.

Disney has said that Narcoossee’s will reopen in 2023 with “an enhanced table-service experience” (that sounds just like the update we got for Kona Café, so apparently those “enhanced experiences” are all the rage at Disney World restaurants).

Disney World Water Parks

Blizzard Beach

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is still closed right now. But don’t worry — you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon, which is Disney World’s other water park.

If you’ll be in Disney World this week, it’s very possible that you won’t need Genie+ in the parks. We’ve been seeing some LOW crowds lately, with many people returning to school and work after summer vacations. In fact, on one day last week, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had a 25-minute wait time at 1PM!

Even though we’ve previously seen Disney World’s “slow” times remain busy (possibly due to “revenge travel” after the pandemic restrictions eased), it seems like the typical crowd trends could be returning to Disney World. We’ll have to wait and see if these trends continue.
