Happy Labor Day, everyone!
Labor Day can bring heavier crowds to Disney World, just like many three-day weekends throughout the year do. However, many schools up north don’t return to school until after Labor Day weekend, meaning that some families are still taking end-of-summer vacations up until the end of Labor Day. Recently we’ve seen a dip in crowd levels at Disney — will Labor Day bring them all back? Come with us to find out!
We went into the parks today to scout out how this year’s Labor Day crowds are looking. Let’s see what’s going on in each of the parks!
Magic Kingdom
As we entered Magic Kingdom, we noticed that we weren’t shoulder-to-shoulder with other guests like we have been on past Labor Day holidays. Not only that, but we were able to make it into the park pretty quickly today!
Even as we walked down Main Street, U.S.A., we weren’t running into anyone or having to reroute ourselves in order to avoid crowds. We happily sauntered our way down to Cinderella Castle to take it all in!
We thought that maybe this was just an early morning fluke, but as we made our way further into the park we were happy to see that there were still no large crowds to be seen.
Even the line to meet princesses over in Fantasyland was empty! Is it possible that summer crowds finally left Disney World — and aren’t coming back?!
Not only that, but wait times have been SERIOUSLY low throughout the day in Magic Kingdom, too. Check out this screenshot our reporter took of wait times a couple of hours after the park had been open!
So, what did Labor Day crowds look like in the other Disney World parks?!
EPCOT
We saw much of the same crowd levels at EPCOT throughout the morning, and didn’t find ourselves facing bottlenecking in certain areas like we sometimes see in EPCOT. Overall, we were able to roam about as we pleased.
Popular pavilions appeared to be ghost towns, like the China Pavilion seen here — which is usually poppin’ with people heading into check out the wares at the House of Good Fortune.
What’s this?! No long line to grab a beer from the Germany Pavilion?! The Labor Day “crowds” in Disney World don’t seem to be crowds at all — at least not for the time being.
Over in the France Pavilion, guests are usually seated around this flowerbed, taking a break from the heat or having a snack. When we passed by, there wasn’t a single soul nearby vying for a spot to sit down!
This is honestly a little shocking considering the busy travel weekend Orlando International Airport saw. According to Fox 35 Orlando, a whopping 764,600 people were expected to travel through the airport this weekend, and WESH reported that more than 100,000 are expected to pass through MCO today alone.
We’ve seen pretty high Labor Day Weekend crowds at Disney World in the past, but so far today things have been pretty quiet. We’ll be monitoring crowd levels and wait times in the parks all Labor Day long so be sure to check back here for the latest updates.
And that’s what Disney World is looking like today! When high crowd levels are expected during your Disney World trip, you may want to look into getting Disney Genie+ or take advantage of some of the ride lines that have special details hidden inside. We came prepared for these amazing crowd levels and were not seeing the same Disney you all were. Epcot was slow until 10 am yesterday and Magic Kingdom crammed today unfortunately. Just thought you all should know.

could the tremendous cost increases, elimination of fast pass replaced by the pay for now genie+, the reduction in services etc. be the start of the problem. The new CEO has only increased the cost for a Disney vacation but it is directly opposite what Walt wanted for Disney-An affordable family vacation

Sure Orlando Air port was busy, but people are just over going to Disney when they keep raising prices and reducing quality.
Disney wants to continue raising prices claiming Demand is strong, when in fact Disney forces the use of reservations to throttle park attendance in order to create an illusion of crowds. With the end of COVID many people rushed back wiling to pay whatever the market would bear to return to Disney, now that people have satisfied their vacation comments that COVID delayed they will start going to places other than Disney to get better value for their money.
No crowds at Disney is a wake up call to arrogant Disney management.

Same! We went to EPCOT Sunday and Monday all day both days – was super busy – and super hot!

Yes we were at Magic Kingdom and it was busy, 55 mins for Pirates of the Caribbean 35 mins for Splash Mountain

It’s going to be interesting to see how the lack of annual passes , the massive price increases , the increase in complexity & the lack of spontaneity will impact the park. It’s clear they want to cut out perks and rebates and charge the most that they can. I have an annual pass and I have see ex annual pass holders frustrated that they couldn’t get one and therefore couldn’t benefit from the 20% rebate. I’ve stepped up so many times with my pass and gotten them their rebate as I feel for them. My perception is that Disney has become so complicated that we ask ourselves if its worth the stress and many people may be saying it’s not. Every time i go now I thank god for those genie plus genius’s as without them I wouldn’t have been able to get on the new rides. My pass ends in December and I can’t validate the expense anymore 🤷♀️

Maybe they should rethink the park reservations, the park hopping changes and make it a stress free, true vacation like it used to be.?.?
