Do you turn left or right when you enter the EPCOT World Showcase? Whether you start with margaritas in Mexico or poutine in Canada, you’ll end up at the American Adventure pavilion about halfway through your journey around the world.
If you’re visiting EPCOT soon, there’s a new American Adventure pavilion update that you’ll need to know about! This spot is missing some hours in the near future, which could indicate an upcoming refurbishment.
At the American Adventure, there’s a show that features various animatronics that tell the story of America. Some of the narrators include Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain, Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, and more.
This show usually plays every hour on the half-hour from 11:30AM to 7:30PM, but it’s currently not showing times starting on September 19th, 2022.
The calendar doesn’t say that the show will be unavailable — there simply aren’t any times listed from September 19th through November 6th (which is as far as Disney’s calendar goes for now). This could be a glitch on the website, but it could also mean that the pavilion and show will be closed for a while this fall. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates and be sure to let you know if Disney makes any announcements about this project.
UPDATE: On September 19th, we stopped by and saw that the American Adventure show is closed right now (so the missing showtimes were correct and not a website glitch). A Cast Member told us the closure was for some routine refurbishment and the show would not be changing. Disney hasn’t announced when it will reopen yet.
There are several other refurbishments happening in Disney World this fall. To see all of them in one place, check out our post about all the closures happening in Disney World in September. There are also several construction projects going on in the parks for upcoming attractions, like the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana in EPCOT and TRON: Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom.
There have also been some big reopenings recently, including the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom and the buffet at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Characters will be returning to a few restaurants soon, including Lilo and Stitch at ‘Ohana’s breakfast!
We’ll continue to watch for more updates in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

We are here now and we always stay somewhere on the Boardwalk, So we start in France! The bakery is hard to beat and we stop there on our way out to take some tarts, eclairs, or beignets back to our room.
