The Queen of the United Kingdom has passed away.
In the past, fans of The Queen have been able to pick up treats themed to The Queen or royal-themed merchandise in the United Kingdom pavilion in EPCOT, but today’s news surrounding the Royal family is much more somber.
As we noted above, Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen of the United Kingdom, has passed away. According to a tweet from The Royal Family, The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral on the afternoon of September 8th.
The Royal Family Tweet also indicated that The King and The Queen Consort would remain at Balmoral this night and would be heading back to London tomorrow.

The Queen’s children gathered at her Scottish estate near Aberdeen, as well as other members of her family.
The website for the Royal Family has been changed to reflect this and indicates that the website is unavailable as appropriate changes are being made.
The Queen was 96 years old at the time of her passing. She was Britain’s longest-reigning monarch — this year marked 70 years of her rule on the throne.
His Majesty The King issued a statement in response to the passing and shared that he and his family are mourning profoundly The Queen’s passing and that this moment marks a time of great sadness for them.
According to AP News, Prince Charles became king as soon as his mother passed away. He is the oldest person to take the British throne, but no date has yet been set for his coronation.
British Prime Minister Liz Truss, who The Queen recently formally asked to become the next prime minister, had said that the country is “devastated” by the loss. Truss referred to The Queen as “the rock on which modern Britain was built.”

The world has lost an extraordinary person, Queen Elizabeth. I always respected and appreciated her energy, dedication, fortitude…her deep sense of duty….and the fact that she loved her job and her people loved her back. The true and sad end of an era….
