D23 Expo just happened and we found out a TON of news!

The expo is a huge fan event where Disney holds panels, makes big announcements, shows off exclusive merchandise, and more. At this year’s expo, we found out things like a new restaurant coming to Disneyland, an expansion happening at Avengers Campus, and a bunch of release dates for various movies and TV shows. We also got a lot of opening dates for things in the Disney Parks! So, let’s take a look at ALL of the opening dates that were announced at D23 Expo!

Walt Disney World

TRON: Spring 2023

UPDATE: TRON will open on April 4, 2023 in Magic Kingdom.

We FINALLY got an opening timeline for TRON in Magic Kingdom! It should be opening in Spring of 2023. So, we still have a bit longer to wait.

We did get to see one of the ride vehicles in person though, which you can take a look at right here.

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana: Late 2023

We’ve been keeping an eye on Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana construction in EPCOT, and we now know that it will be opening in late 2023!

New EPCOT Fireworks Show: 2023

Update: Harmonious will close on April 2, 2023 and EPCOT Forever will start its limited time run on April 3, 2023. 

Even though Harmonious opened in October of 2021, EPCOT will be getting a NEW nighttime spectacular in late 2023!

We don’t know much about the show, but we’ll let you know when we do!

Figment Meet and Greet: 2023

Figment is an iconic Disney World character, and next year, you’ll be able to meet him!

A Figment meet and greet is coming to EPCOT by the end of 2023.

Hatbox Ghost Meet and Greet: 2023

The Hatbox Ghost from Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride has had some issues over the years, but Imagineers did eventually get it to work in Disneyland.

But, in 2023, people in Disney World will actually be able to MEET the Hatbox Ghost in real life!

Eudora’s Chic Boutique: September 20th, 2022

Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets is a brand new store coming to New Orleans Square in Disneyland Park, and we don’t even have to wait a long time! It will be open on September 20th, 2022.

This is a Princess and the Frog themed store that will also have a brand new line of spices and sauces created by Tiana for use in her own cooking at the restaurant.

Hulk Meet and Greet: September 2022

A GIANT Hulk is set to show up in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park this month! We got a look at the Hulk character during the expo.

But, Disney did say that he won’t be around for long, so you will have to hurry to see him!

Grogu and Mandalorian Meet and Greet: Mid-November, 2022

Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) and Grogu (Baby Yoda) will be around for meet and greets in Disneyland Park’s Galaxy’s Edge starting in mid-November of this year!

We can imagine these two are going to be VERY popular!

Wondrous Journeys Fireworks: January 2023

For The Walt Disney Company’s 100-year anniversary celebration, a new fireworks show will come to Disneyland Park called Wondrous Journeys.

It will debut in January of 2023. Remember, the previous fireworks show ended at the beginning of September of this year.

World of Color — One: 2023

There will also be a new version of the current show in Disney California Adventure park. The new show is World of Color — One and will celebrate 100 years of Disney storytelling.

The show is supposed to feature things from ALL of the movies made by Disney Animation. We don’t have an official date yet, but we do know it will open in 2023.

Magic Happens Parade: 2023

The Magic Happens Parade is returning to Disneyland Resort for the 100 Years of Disney celebration!

This parade originally debuted in February of 2020 and its run was cut short due to the global pandemic. We know it will come back some time in 2023.

runDinsey races are coming BACK to Disneyland in 2024!

These races have been happening in Disney World for a while, but they’ll finally be back on the West Coast. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: Late 2024

We already knew about the opening timeline of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but we wanted to mention it again because we got SO many updates about the ride.

The ride is scheduled to open at the end of 2024, but we do not yet know when it will close for these renovations to start happening.

Pixar: We Belong Together in Disneyland Paris: 2023

Disneyland Paris is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary, and there will be a new show for the celebrations next year! It’s called “Pixar: We Belong Together.”

This show will be part of the final festivities for the resort’s anniversary celebration, which will last through September 30th, 2023.

Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen: Late 2023

The World of Frozen expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland will open in late 2023.

It will be the first Frozen-themed land to open out of the three in progress right now.

Tokyo Disneyland Space Mountain: 2027

In 2024, Tokyo Disneyland’s Space Mountain with “undergo a transformation that will bring a new story and experience to the iconic attraction.”

The renovation should be done by 2027.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is adding a NEW ship to its fleet called the Disney Treasure! It will have an adventure theme.

The ship is set to be delivered in 2024, but that doesn’t necessarily mean guests will be sailing on it by then. We’ll keep you updated.
