There are a bunch of tried and true classic restaurants at Disney World, but there have also been a number of new spots in recent years!
In EPCOT, there are new places to eat likeLa Crêperie de Paris and Connections Café and Eatery, and we even got a new spot over on Disney’s BoardWalk — the BoardWalk Deli. And now, a NEW restaurant is coming to a hotel on Disney World property!
Rosa Mexicano will be opening its first Orlando-area location at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in early 2023! It will be replacing the current Fresh Mediterranean Market in the Dolphin hotel. The new restaurant will offer “an elevated fiesta dining experience” which will include signature menu items and award-wining margaritas.
“Rosa Mexicano’s arrival to Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is a truly exciting moment of our expansion. The opening reflects our founding chef Josefina Howard’s vision of introducing Mexican culinary traditions and authentic Mexican heritage to the world. Once the restaurant opens, we will offer the Orlando market a fresh take on Mexican food, authentic Mexican heritage, culinary techniques and lively dining,” said CEO of Rosa Mexicano, Jim Dunn.
The restaurant will be 5,500 square feet and offer various seating areas with room for about 300 guests. There will also be a 30-person bar and a private dining room for 50.
The menu at Rosa Mexicano will have a contemporary interpretation of authentic Mexican cuisine that will include beloved classics and innovative dishes that pay tribute to Mexico’s richly varied culinary regions. There will also be over 100 varieties of tequila and agave-based spirits. And, the restaurant’s signature frozen pomegranate margarita (which was named the best in New York City!) will also be available.
The restaurant won’t open until early 2023, but you can get your first taste of Rosa Mexicano at the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic! The event takes place on November 11th and 12th and the restaurant will have a tasting station. Find out more about the event right here.

Rosa Mexicana is great. The guac made table side is the best. I got a copy cat recipe from RM and every time I make it people go crazy.

Please have authentic Mexican food. I am a refugee from southern California now living in central Florida, and I have yet to find traditional tacos, enchiladas, tamales, burritos etc. I would love to have real comida Mexicana so close!

Another Mexican restaurant…? Ugh! Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy Mexican food. However, there are just soooo many even in Orlando. I e yet to see a high end restaurant cook “authentic” Mexican food. So many middle to higher end restaurants simply cook the same offerings with their “twist” on them. And truthfully, they are not much different from each other. It’s a ‘cop out’ is all it is. It’s just so easy to not put a lot of thinking into deciding on a type of restaurant. “What type of restaurant should we put in?” “Hmmm that’s to much thinking, just go with a Mexican restaurant.”
