As much as we love Disney World, we’ll be the first to admit that there are some uncomfortable parts of a Disney vacation. Hot Orlando days mean a lot of sweating, walking around for hours can result in sore feet, and if you’re not wearing the right clothes, chafing might become your worst enemy. But maybe one of the least comfortable parts of the vacation is the plane ride to get there!
Sitting up in uncomfy seats while being surrounded by dozens of other people and minimal personal space — yeah, it’s not our favorite thing either. But if you fly with American Airlines, your trip might get quite a bit more comfortable in the future!
According to USA Today, American Airlines is currently working on new Flagship Suites, which will be the consolidation of its Flagship First Class and Flagship Business Class. The suites will be outfitted with privacy doors, direct aisle access, and more personal space than the Business class seats previously had.
There are multiple small tables for working, and there’s more storage space for your carry-ons as well. Each suite has a TV for in-flight entertainment.
Each Flagship suite seat will convert into a bed as well — no more trying to sleep while sitting up!
The new suites will have “dark upholstery and carpeting offset by lighter grays and wood trims around the entertainment system and partitions.”
But the suites aren’t the only seats being upgraded. American Airlines is also updating its premium economy cabin, adding headrest wings to the seats in order to provide more privacy.
The premium economy cabin first debuted on American Airlines planes about 6 years ago, and the airline reports that these seats have become more and more popular since then.
The new updates are expected to start rolling out around late 2025 or early 2026. Some planes will have the new seats in 2024, but the full updates won’t be available until later.
So if you’re looking for a way to get to Disney World in ultimate comfort, you may want to check out these new seats once they arrive in a couple of years. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Orlando International Airport’s NEW Terminal C!
The terminal opened recently with new restaurants, modern technology updates, and a bright, airy feel. 11 airlines will fly out of the terminal, and the security process is going to look a little different than what you may be used to.
We’ll keep watching for more travel updates that could impact your upcoming Disney World trip, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news.
