Construction has taken over Disney World!
We’re monitoring progress on TRON Lightcycle Run, Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. And sometimes, when construction is taking place, other offerings around it need to close. This was the case with the Walt Disney World Railroad and the walkway between Disney’s Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village Resort. And, if you’ve been missing that helpful walkway, another one has taken its place!
Come walk with us down this new walkway! We started over at the Polynesian and were guided out by a sign.
We continued following the signs and got to walk over by the monorail…
…got a great view of the scrims blocking construction work…
…and took in some pretty scenery.
Most areas had signs leading guests in both directions —Â towards Grand Floridian and the Polynesian.
Of course, not all areas were super interesting to look at…but we’re just happy to have a walkway.
And we made it to the Grand Floridian! If you need to head back over to the Polynesian, you’ll just follow their respective signs.
Thanks for taking the walk with us! Be sure to try out this walkway the next time you need to jump between hotels. And, if you’re headed to Disney World soon, don’t forget to pack some of our fun t-shirts! Click here to see them all!

Is this currently the best way to walk from Poly to MK or is there a more direct route??

Is the path past the old Luau gone? It was one of our favorites

The most direct way would be either the lake boats or the monorail. Walking from the Poly to MK will take you a half hour at lease, where as the monorail with a wait time is maybe 15-20 min.
