As Hurricane Ian approaches Florida, we’re starting to see city governments and tourist destinations take precautions.
We’ve been watching the weather closely as cities issue evacuation notices to residents and Disney World starts preparing for the possibility of severe weather hitting the theme parks. But if you’re one of the Florida residents who needs to evacuate and get to safety, we’ve got some important news for you.
Sometimes when these types of storms hit, hotels will offer discounted rates to those evacuating. The first hotel company to announce such a deal this time was Rosen Hotels & Resorts. They’re offering Florida Resident “Distress Rates” to help those evacuating have peace of mind and stay budget-friendly.
The distress rates are as follows:
$69 per night (not including taxes):
- Rosen Inn International
- Rosen Inn Closest to Universal
- Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando
- Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista
$99 per night (not including taxes):
- Rosen Inn Plaza
$109 per night (not including taxes):
- Rosen Centre
$119 per night (not including taxes):
- Rosen Shingle Creek
Rosen Hotels & Resorts are also pet-friendly, and there will be no additional pet fee during distress rates. Wifi is complimentary for guests.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more hotel deals for evacuees, so stay tuned to DFB and check back to see if this post is updated. We’ll be reporting on all the hurricane news in the coming days, so follow along if you’re traveling to Florida soon.
We’ll be monitoring the announcements from theme parks, local governments, and airports as well to see if there are any changes to normal operations. Disney World has already begun preparations for the storm, and we’ll make sure to share any news from the resort.

We live in a 55 park mobile home in largo Florida. We have pets. If our mobile is unlivable we will be homeless.
