As Disney World continues its phased reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic closures, we’ve seen more and more offerings return. EPCOT behind-the-scenes tours are returning, characters are coming back to ‘Ohana and Crystal Palace, and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is open once again in Magic Kingdom. So what’s left?
We’re still missing a few special events in Disney World, but it’s finally been announced that After Hours events are going to return to the parks soon! Find out when they’ll return and how much they’ll cost here.
Disney announced that After Hours events will return to Disney World beginning in January 2023. They’ll kick off on January 4th in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and on January 9th in Magic Kingdom.
After Hours events are separately ticketed parties where you can stay in the Disney theme parks for 3 hours after the park closes. There are specialty treats and drinks included in your ticket. And because the number of tickets sold for the parties is limited, you can often find lower wait times than usual on the rides and attractions.
At the Magic Kingdom events, over 20 attractions will stay open for the event, including Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
At Hollywood Studios, the attractions that will remain open include Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Land rides, and more.
Guests with an After Hours ticket can enter the park as early as 7PM and stay 3 hours after closing time. For Magic Kingdom events, the party lasts from 10PM to 1AM; at Hollywood Studios events, the party is from 9:30PM to 12:30AM.
In 2023, the tickets will range in price from $129 to $159 per person. Tickets will become available for all guests to purchase on October 7th, 2022, but guests staying at Disney World hotels during the After Hours events can start buying tickets on October 4th, 2022. DVC members and Annual Passholders will get a discount on certain days for After Hours events.

Hi! Where do I go on October 4 to book one of the after hour events ? I am staying on property.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Cindy says
I’ve never been to Disney After Hours, but now that I live close by I would like to go. Are there themes? I’m comparing it to Disneyland After Dark which I regularly attended: Villains Nite, Pixar Nite, 1990s, 1980s, Sweetheart nite, etc.

If someone buys tickets to an After Hours event do they also have to have a regular park ticket? Or could you just get an After Hours ticket and go into the park at 7pm?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Beth! The After Hours events are separate tickets so you would not need to have a regular park ticket unless you wanted to arrive before you’re allowed in for the event.
RC says
Do you know if they will continue the deluxe resort after hours at MK and Epcot when they start this, or if this will replace that?
Bob says
Why nothing the first week of Feb?
DFB Gigi says
Hi RC! Most likely the extended evening hours will continue for deluxe resort guests, they would just be on the nights there is no After Hours event scheduled.
Kristina says
Curious about what will happen with the Monday and Wednesday extended evening hours for deluxe guests which would seem to overlap these – will they be cancelling them ?? I don’t want to buy a ticket to go to an event one night and then miss my extended evening.
