Hurricane Ian is on a path to hit Florida later this week, so the state is taking several precautions in order to keep people safe.
Storm warnings and watches have been issued for many counties, and mandatory evacuations are also in place for some counties where the hurricane is expected to make landfall. In addition, some Orlando airports are going to close this week. In light of the incoming storm, Disney World’s cancelation and refund policies have been relaxed so that people can adjust their plans more easily. Now, another service is offering full refunds to those whose plans are being changed due to Hurricane Ian.
The Sunshine Flyer is a transportation service that shuttles passengers between the Orlando International Airport and Disney World. The service uses buses designed to look like 1920s train cars, and it’s one of the options that replaced Disney’s Magical Express when that service ended earlier this year.
Normally, the Sunshine Flyer’s cancelation policy is a full refund if you cancel or change your plans more than 72 hours before scheduled pick-up and a 100% future credit with Sunshine Flyer if you cancel or change less than 72 hours before scheduled pick-up.
On Instagram, the Sunshine Flyer announced that they will provide full refunds to anyone who needs to reschedule or cancel their reservations at any time due to Hurricane Ian. So even if you need to cancel within less than 72 hours before your scheduled pick-up, you can receive a full refund. To claim your refund or reschedule your trip, email them at [email protected].
Note that Sunshine Flyer will not run if the Orlando International Airport is closed, and that airport is going to close at 10:30AM on Wednesday, September 28th. The airport has not confirmed when it will reopen. In their post, Sunshine Flyer said that they are “following the same guidelines as those outlined by Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World. If you have specific questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].”
