Going to Disney World isn’t as easy as it used to be!
There’s a TON of planning involved, and with so much changing all the time it can be hard to keep up with it all — but that’s where we come in. We’re in the parks every day checking out what’s new and what you need to be prepared for — so let’s take a look at the biggest Disney World construction updates from this week!
Magic Kingdom
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
We checked in on Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. on a recent PeopleMover ride and saw that there’s still some exterior work being done on the Tomorrowland Speedway side of things.
For now, the shop remains closed due to construction on TRON. You can still find merch at Star Traders nearby in the meantime!
TRON: Lightcycle Run
Never did we think we’d get so excited about cement, but here we are. Some fancy free-form shapes have appeared down in front of the TRON canopy. We caught a glimpse of crews working on them recently!
You can see the concrete areas from a different angle here. It looks like things are starting to come together on the exterior of this attraction.
If only we could catch a peek at what the inside looks like! We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates from Disney though, so stay tuned.

EPCOT
China Pavilion
We recently spotted some pavement work being done over at the China Pavilion, just beyond the grand entrance at the center.
It looks like the work is mostly completed, but we’ll let you know if we spot any more updates.
Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
And over at the upcoming Moana-themed attraction, the details are coming together at the tallest rock structure — you can really get a good look at her spiral symbol.
In this wider view, you can see that the rocks have been speckled with green moss-like material or paint to give them a natural look.
We’re so excited to finally be seeing some details come together at this attraction — opening in late 2023.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Boulevard
There’s a bit of facade work going on over on Hollywood Boulevard!
We’re not sure what Disney has planned for this area, but we’re keeping an eye on it — so stay tuned.
Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
We’re still seeing much of the same over at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ — but the scaffolding and scrim we’re seeing is hopefully a good sign!
It looks like progress is finally moving forward on this new table-service restaurant — and we hope it moves quickly as Woody’s is scheduled to open sometime this year!
