The Disney World parks have reopened following the Hurricane Ian closure. The hotels are also open once again, and things seem to be mostly back to normal.
However, if you’re going to Disney World soon, you should know that not quite everything is open to guests. There are still a few ride, restaurant, and attraction closures that you should know about before you visit. Check out the full list here so that you’re prepared!
Before you head to Disney World, you’ll need to pack some great Disney outfits for the trip. Have you checked out our line of graphic tees? We’ve designed some for the whole family – from infants to adults. Click here to check them out!

Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in Disney World, and we don’t have an opening date for this attraction yet.
We have heard some train testing in the park recently, which is a good sign that it could reopen soon. However, it may remain closed until construction on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster finishes in the spring of 2023. This construction has interrupted the railroad tracks over in Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
The TRON construction has also affected the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop, which is the shop that guests exit through after riding the Space Mountain coaster. Currently, people are being directed to exit a different way.
Disney hasn’t announced when this shop will reopen, but it looked pretty gutted inside when we saw it from the PeopleMover.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle is where you could previously meet Belle and help her tell the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Although you can still sometimes meet Belle in this spot, the attraction is currently closed. Disney hasn’t announced when it might reopen.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Disney has promised that Pete’s Silly Sideshow will reopen sometime in the coming months!
That means that soon you can meet Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their circus performer outfits at this Storybook Circus meet-and-greet location.
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
Over in Fantasyland, Ariel is still missing from her grotto. Disney hasn’t said when she will return to this meet-and-greet spot.
However, you can still ride on Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid, which is the omnimover ride located nearby.
A Magic Kingdom treat is finally BACK!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
And speaking of The Little Mermaid, the stage show themed after the same movie is still closed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney hasn’t announced when or if The Voyage of the Little Mermaid will reopen.
Fantasmic!
Exciting news! Cast Member rehearsals have begun for Fantasmic! in Disney World.
We still don’t have a specific reopening date for this show, but we do know that it’ll return sometime this year.
Find out how you should spend your money in Hollywood Studios.
EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
The theater that’s usually used for the Canada Far & Wide film is currently housing the Appleseed Orchard Food & Wine Festival booth. So you can’t watch a movie about the natural beauty of Canada right now, but you can buy an apple crumble tart here!
We’re expecting Canada Far & Wide to return after the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival ends on November 19th.
American Adventure Pavilion
Continuing around EPCOT’s World Showcase, the American Adventure show in EPCOT’s World Showcase is currently closed.
Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date for this show. A Cast Member previously told us that this closure was for routine refurbishment on the animatronics, and the show will likely be the same when it reopens (just spruced up a bit).
Disney announced the FOOD BOOTHS for the 2022 Festival of the Holidays in EPCOT.
Disney World Hotels
Kona Café — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Although Kona Café is still temporarily closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we have seen a clue that it could reopen soon. Disney World’s website is showing no available hours for this spot through October 31st, but beginning on November 1st, restaurant hours are once again listed as available. It looks like you can’t make reservations for this restaurant yet, but we’ll be watching to see if that changes.
In the meantime, you can still grab food from Kona Café by using the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go. You’ll pick up your food right next to Kona Island.
Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, the seafood restaurant Narcoossee’s is temporarily closed as well. This restaurant closed back in July.
Disney has said that Narcoossee’s will reopen sometime in 2023.

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
One of Disney World’s water parks — Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park — is still closed right now. But don’t worry — you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon!
If you want to know more about what’s going on inside Blizzard Beach right now, check out our recent post.
Learn more about the Blizzard Beach refurbishment here.
Right now, you can enjoy the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival along with some special treats throughout the parks that arrived for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month. We highly recommend the limited-time tacos found at Choza de Margarita in EPCOT.
