DATE and DETAILS Revealed for the 100th Anniversary Celebration at Disneyland Resort!

During the 2022 D23 Expo, we learned just some details about what Disney was planning for the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration for the Walt Disney Company.

But, other than a logo and a few brief details about the fact that there WAS going to be a celebration, Disney was quiet — until now, that is! Disney has officially announced that Disneyland will be the heart of this celebration — and now we know exactly when that will begin!

Disney announced that the Disney100 anniversary celebration at Disneyland Resort will officially begin on January 27th, 2023! Special limited-time offerings will be taking place throughout the resort all year long, with Disneyland Cast Members getting to experience some of the new offerings first.

When the celebration begins on January 27th, the entire park will have received a makeover featuring new platinum-infused decor all around, new costumes for Mickey, Minnie, and their pals, plus special snacks, drinks, and of course — merch!

Sleeping Beauty Castle is also getting a makeover complete with platinum banners and bunting, and a “magnificent cabochon featuring the three Good Fairies who illuminate it with their shimmering pixie dust.” Two water fountains will also be featured on either side of the moat, and a wishing star will top it all off.

Disney also mentioned the two nighttime spectaculars coming to the parks as well! “World of Color — One” at Disney California Adventure will tell a new tale and features a new song, while “Wondrous Journeys” will premiere at Disneyland Park. This new nighttime fireworks show will feature nods to Walt Disney Animation and more.

But, what might be the most exciting announcement of all — despite the new Mickey’s Toontown not being scheduled to open until Spring 2023, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open with the rest of the Disney100 celebration on January 27th!

Later in Spring 2023, Disneyland will welcome back the Magic Happens Parade to the park as well, and more special entertainment is scheduled to pop up around the parks!
