Some big changes are coming soon to Disney+.
The popular streaming service is now introducing an ad-supported tier, which will be the same price that current subscribers pay. If you wish to avoid ads, you’ll need to pay a bit more, with the ad-free tier costing $10.99 per month. But now, ahead of these updates, Disney+ is changing its subscriber agreement.
The Disney+ subscriber agreement has been updated as of October 6th for new subscribers, and the new terms will go into effect for current subscribers starting on November 3rd, 2022. Disney encourages subscribers to review a copy of the agreement and keep one on record.
The new agreement includes the following changes:
- With the launch of the ad-supported tier, subscriptions to the streaming services may be “offered in tiers that differ, including with respect to features, pricing, and other factors.”
- It clarifies that, by signing up for and using Disney streaming services, you consent to receive email (and other forms of electronic notices) and disclosures relating to your subscription. (This includes email notifications of price changes.)
- It explains that subscriptions to the Disney Bundle will be subject to “terms and disclosures presented during the sign-up and purchase process and related FAQs in our Help Center.”
- The arbitration agreement will be updated to be more specific about the procedures for resolving any disputes relating to your subscription and other Disney services.
These are just some examples of how the agreement is changing, so make sure to read a copy if you’re interested in getting the full updates. Keep in mind that the price change launches on December 8th, 2022, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for the new Disney+ Basic and Disney+ Premier tiers.
