Give Kids the World’s Night of a Million Lights was named the “Number One Thing to Do in December in Orlando” by USA Today back in 2020. And if you love Christmas lights, it might be a must-do for you!
This event typically allows guests to stroll through a village full of Christmas lights with all kinds of impressive displays (all while helping kiddos in need). Though it had been previously announced that Night of a Million Lights would NOT be returning this year, it seems plans have changed!
Give Kids the World is a nonprofit resort in Central Florida “that provides critically ill children and their families with magical weeklong wish vacations at no cost.”
This year, in partnership with Island H2O Water Park in Kissimmee, FL, the waterpark will be transformed for the months of November and December as they host the Night of a Million Lights. The event had been held at the Give Kids the World Village in the past, but it has been relocated this year due to an “influx of wish families” in the Village.
Guests will “watch an all-new dancing lights show on a five-story waterslide, visit an interactive children’s holiday activities space, interact with strolling performers, explore themed lightscapes, and create priceless holiday memories during visits with Santa.”
There will also be nightly entertainment in the form of dueling pianos, an a capella group, and much more.
The event begins on Friday, November 11th, and lasts through Sunday, January 1st, 2023. It runs every night in that time from 6PM to 10PM with staggered entry times for guests.
You can get tickets now on the Give Kids the World website! Proceeds from Night of a Million Lights at Island H2O go to Give Kids the World to help them continue providing free week-long vacations to critically ill children and their families.
Ticket prices vary according to the date, with Standard nights costing $30/adult and $15/kids (ages 3 to 17). Peak nights (weekends and days close to holidays) are $35/adult and $18/kids, and Holiday nights (Thanksgiving weekend, dates around Christmas, and dates around New Year’s Eve) are $40/adult and $20/kids.
Kids 2 years old and younger do not need a ticket. Discounts are available for groups of 25 or more, as well as Island H2O Water Park season pass holders. VIP experiences, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities may be available — check with Give Kids the World for the latest information.
If you’ve been missing that Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights and have been looking for some kind of light display to visit, this might be a fun thing to check out in Orlando, while helping a great cause.
