‘Tis the season for lots of new eats at the Disney World hotels, apparently!
We recently got a bunch of new menu additions at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, including items at Territory Lounge and Roaring Fork. Now, Disney World has announced even MORE menu changes at various restaurants around the resorts, including some exciting additions at a fan-favorite bar!
For this review, we’re heading to Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort, where we’ve got not one, not two, but FIVE new things to try. Let’s dig in!
First up, we’ve got the Burrata Salad which has heirloom tomatoes, fresh pesto, and focaccia bread. It’s colorful and fresh-looking, but does it taste as good as it looks?
The burrata itself was perfectly creamy, and the pesto base underneath mixed with the olive oil to give a delicious and very flavorful combination. The tomatoes were a nice addition to add a bright flavor in the mix, and everything just blended well as a unit.
The highlight of this entree is just eating everything all together on a yummy piece of focaccia. The bread had some great Italian flavors that really brought it all together. This was a winner! Get it for $15.99.
Next up is the Salmon with Orzo. It has seared salmon with Pomodroccio tapenade and lemon orzo. And like the salad, it’s earning all the presentation points! Order it for $20.99.
It was cooked well, and the salmon was nice and flaky, which we loved. The skin was crispy, which provided some contrast. There wasn’t a lot of seasoning on top of the salmon, but we think the orzo made up for that somewhat.
The sun-dried tomatoes and beans underneath the fish were very good, with a garlic undertone. All in all, we think this dish needed a little more flavor, and it would’ve been nice if the olives on top were mixed into the orzo.
The Mushroom Arancini is made with risotto, mushroom, cheese, and truffle served with a house-made marinara. Our mouths are watering already! This one was $12.99.
These were definitely deep fried, and they were PACKED with mushrooms. The texture was nice, not too hard, easy to bite into but still crispy. The marinara wasn’t anything over-the-top, but it added a nice flavor component.
Mostly, the flavors here are marinara, mushrooms, and parmesan. If you don’t like any of those elements, this might not be your thing, but for mushroom fans, it’s a hit. With two people trying this offering, we ended up with mixed reviews.
The last OFFICIAL item from Bar Riva was the Molten Chocolate Cake for $7.29. It’s a warm chocolate cake with a molten center, topped with a raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries.
This beauty looks delicious and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s incredibly rich, but well-baked, and the inside is good and melty but not runny. Very well-balanced!
We thought the raspberries cut through the chocolate flavor nicely. We definitely recommend eating this cake when it’s hot for the optimal experience!
Finally, we’ve got the Riviera Signature Cookie! You’ll actually find this treat next door at Primo Piatto for $3.79, but we asked our server about it and they brought one to our table at Bar Riva, adding it to the tab for our meal.
It’s made with semi-sweet chocolate chips, ground oats, California walnuts, toasted pistachios, dried cherries, and flake sea salt. It definitely gives off the vibes of an oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and nuts. It was melty in the middle and those chocolate chips were nice and gooey.
The sea salt on top cut through the chocolate a bit, adding another good element to the flavors. It’s an absolutely delicious cookie, but our reviewers were divided on whether or not it was extra special or “destination-worthy.” Next time you’re at the Riviera, try it for yourself and see where you land!
That’s everything from our visit to Bar Riva! We had a great time trying out the new eats, and we’ve got some real stellar options on the menu with these additions. If you’re staying at the Riviera soon, we recommend trying out this spot, located on the ground floor next to Primo Piatto and the main pool.
This is a DREAM! 😍 These are all of the new menu items available now at Disney’s Riviera Resort! The Burrata Salad, the Salmon with Orzo, the Mushroom Arancini, and the Molten Chocolate Cake are at Bar Riva! Bonus – the Riviera Signature Cookie is at Primo Piatto! pic.twitter.com/kDAJelJ43o
