If you’re looking for NEW Disney treats to try, it looks like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is THE place to be.
Just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, it would be easy enough to pause your day in the busy park to hop over to this relaxing hotel and eat some snacks, grab a dessert, or enjoy a full meal. And with NEW menu additions hitting some of the restaurants here, you might be extra tempted to stop by. But should you? Are the new snacks worth it? Join us as we find out!
At the start of October, Disney announced that 25 NEW eats and drinks would be coming to the restaurants at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We made our way over to Territory Lounge to check out those new items (including bone marrow and hanging bacon!) — you can click here to see our FULL review.
But now it’s time to visit this hotel’s quick service spot — Roaring Fork — to see what NEW items have arrived there! It’s an underrated restaurant that many might not know about if they haven’t stayed at the resort, but some of these new items may tempt you to visit soon.
Roaring Fork has gotten some new items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We sampled some of their new breakfast eats and will be sharing a full review of that soon. But for now, let’s focus on those lunch/dinner and DESSERT additions!
We started things off with the Asian Style Noodle Salad. This is made with Tofu, Crispy Rice Noodles, and Fried Wonton Strips. It’s priced at $12.99.
Unfortunately, this was our least favorite of the bunch. Our reporter ate this last, and after chowing down on BBQ, meatloaf, and tons of sweets (all of which we’ll get to in a minute), they were hoping this would give them a refreshing, healthy feeling. But sadly, it just didn’t deliver. The tofu (which our reporter normally loves) was sort of slimy on the inside, even though we could tell it had been cooked so the outside would have some more texture to it.
There was not a lot of lettuce on this one, so that’s something to keep in mind. It is a noodle salad, so the crunchy fried noodles and other noodles in the dish took over. Again, that’s not unexpected for a noodle salad, but we would have liked at least a little more lettuce in our bowl to help balance things out.
The dressing tasted like a sesame and/or soy-based sauce, and it was good, but we could have used more. We had to dig to the bottom of the bowl to really get any of it at all. Unfortunately, we just found this dish difficult to eat. The noodles were so big and the lettuce was so small that it made getting a balanced forkful really difficult.
It is a healthier option, which is nice, but it wasn’t one we were really impressed by. We think the other new dishes (while likely FAR unhealthier) delivered way more on flavor.
Next up, it was time for some comfort food with the Country-Style Baked Meatloaf. This is served with Buttery Green Peas, Chunky Mashed Potatoes, and Gravy. It’s priced at $14.99.

The sauce had a tinge of sweetness to it, which our reporter didn’t really enjoy, but if you love sweet sauces that could work for you. We did really enjoy the mushroom gravy that was also served with it, and our reporter shared that they would have been very happy if the mushroom gravy had been spread ALL over the dish.
The chunky mashed potatoes were okay — not terribly flavorful, but not bad. And the peas were…well, peas! 😆 Our reporter who tried this dish hates peas, so suffice it to say that this wasn’t her favorite part of the dish.
The cornbread was delicious though. It was savory and sweet, and not dry (thank goodness!). Plus, the top had a nice crispness to it.
If you’re craving some comfort food and you want a hearty meal, this is a pretty good option, though we think some of the other new dishes are more flavorful.
We also decided to try the Barbecued Brisket and Burnt Ends, which is served with Potato Hash, and Fiery Coleslaw. It’s priced at $18.99.
WOWZERS. This was delicious! The meat was nice and tender and there was hardly any fat (which, at least for our reporter, was good in this case). If you like your meat with a lot of fat, that might not be ideal for you though.

The sauce wasn’t too spicy and wasn’t too sweet either — it hit a nice balance right in the middle. Plus it had a lovely smokiness to it, which we really enjoyed.
The coleslaw lived up to its “fiery” name and was a little too spicy for our reporter, but if you love spice that might be a good side for you.
The potato hash was fairly basic — similar to what you might find during breakfast. It was solid, but nothing dramatically impressive.
Overall, if you love BBQ, we think this is a great option and comes in a portion that’ll really fill you up!
Then we decided it was time to finish our meal with something sweet. There are quite a few new dessert items that got added here. These are generally available all day, so you can stop by and pick them up whenever you’re craving something sweet.
We started our dessert adventure with the Humphery Bee Hive Cake. For those who may not be familiar with him, Humphrey is a grizzly bear (don’t worry, he’s friendly!) who has appeared in a few different Disney cartoons. His first appearance was in Hold That Pose, which was released back in 1950! You can spot Humphrey on the totem pole outside the Wilderness Lodge gift shop.
Okay, back to the dessert! Humphrey’s passion is Honey, so naturally, this treat’s design was inspired by that love. It’s made of a Chocolate Cake with Passion Fruit Mousse, Sugar Bees, and a White Chocolate Humphrey. You can pick it up for $7.99.

We were hoping the sugar bees on top would add a little crunch, but unfortunately, they were slightly soggy from having sat on the treat for a little while, and they dissolved almost instantly.
Our reporter shared that they DEFINITELY preferred this one to the Bear Mousse Cake (we’ll tackle that in a second), and it also gets some great style points. While passion fruit might not be the first kid-friendly flavor that comes to mind, we still think that it was mild enough (and the design was fun enough) that little ones could enjoy this!
Another dessert we tried was the Almond-Walnut Bundt Cake. This is priced at $6.29 and features a Coffee Glaze and Cream Cheese Icing.
We also tried the Almond-Walnut Bundt Cake – it’s looks silky, right?! 😋 It’s $6.29 at Roaring Fork! pic.twitter.com/zFrHVYiodm

Mix that with the coffee glaze, which totally amped up the chocolate flavor, and you’ve got a winner! By far, this was our FAVORITE of the new desserts we tried at Roaring Fork.
If you love chocolate desserts and are looking to treat yourself, this is the snack you need. Just be warned that it does have nuts for anyone with a nut allergy.
Finally, we ended this dessert extravaganza with a snack that might just win in the style department — the Bear Mousse Cake! This is priced at $7.99 and features Raspberry Mousse, Almond Cake, and Dark Chocolate Ganache.
Brace yourselves for the desserts ahead from Roaring Fork! 🤩😋 We’re starting with the Bear Mousse Cake – It’s raspberry mousse, almond cake, and dark chocolate ganache that is almost too cute to eat. ALMOST. pic.twitter.com/6ik7DhK7CE

The crunchy pearls at the bottom were great and added a much-needed crunch to an otherwise soft treat.
But be warned, this dessert melts FAST. It essentially deflated outside, making it very messy.
Overall, we give it 10000 points for design and cuteness, but unless you love the taste of tart fruit with chocolate you might want to avoid this one.
