We have seen so many NEW things in EPCOT that we’ve almost lost track of everything that’s part of the park’s transformation.

We’ve been keeping an eye on the construction progress of the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction that’s coming soon. Disney also recently revealed a sneak peek at the new Walt Disney statue we’ll soon see in the park. But one thing Disney has been quiet about is the Play! Pavilion, but we’ve got some construction updates for you!
The Play! Pavilion will be inside the old Wonders of Life Pavilion — it will be a “digital metropolis” with interactive games, entertainment, hands-on activities, experiences, and more! Guests will also get to interact with Disney characters in an entirely new way there!

Late last month, we saw workers on top of the pavilion for the first time in FOREVER.Â

Well, we’ve been checking regularly and we’ve been seeing workers on top of there as recently as last week. Something is finally going on at the Play! Pavilion!

Here’s the thing, though — Disney has not mentioned the Play! Pavilion in quite a while, so we 300% can’t confirm that this work has anything to do with it. However, when we headed over to EPCOT for its 40th anniversary, we got a special commemorative map — and the Play! Pavilion is still listed on it! So that is likely a sign that it’s still on the way! It’s denoted on the map as “Future Home of Play!”

Until Disney confirms any additional details about the Play! Pavilion, though, that’s all we have to go on. All we can tell you is that we’ve seen work being done on the building.
