Finding a quick bite to eat in Magic Kingdom can be a bit of a challenge, especially on those busy park days!
You could head over to Casey’s Corner for some corn dog nuggets, or pop on by Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for a spicy chicken waffle sandwich — just make sure you mobile order to save yourself some time. But, if it’s something new and exciting you’re after — we’ve got you covered there too. We’re trying a NEW flatbread and dessert at Pinocchio Village Haus — so come with us to check it out!
Pinocchio Village Haus is known for its flatbread pizzas, but you can also get a variety of other items like salads and desserts here as well! You’ll typically find a specialty flatbread on the menu that rotates out, and it looks like we arrived just in time to try the NEW Berbere Chickpea Flatbread!
This flatbread is topped with Spiced Hummus, Tomato, and Red Onion drizzled with Coriander-Chutney Dressing. There are a LOT of flavors going on here — but in the best way! The hummus was spiced but not necessarily spicy and paired really well with the crisp bite of the fresh red onion.
It was loaded with toppings and made to order so it takes a little bit longer to cook — a word of warning if you plan on trying this out. But man, it was worth the wait. The coriander-chutney dressing was herby and fresh, while the tomatoes were the perfect almost sweet addition to this pizza.
This is a great option if you’re looking to pack some veggies into your snack, and could easily be split between two people as a snack at $12.29. We were pretty impressed with this flatbread, but if you’re not a fan of bold flavors (and don’t want to have onion breath for the rest of the day…) we’d probably skip this one!
Of course, we had to end our meal with a dessert, so we tried the new Brazil Nut Cake for $6.19. This is a Coffee-Brazilian Nut Cake, featuring Flavors of Brazil with Passion Fruit Curd and Milk Chocolate Mousse. If this is what Brazil tastes like, then Brazil is delicious.
The coffee-Brazilian nut cake had just a hint of coffee flavor so it didn’t overpower the whole dessert, and when combined with the chocolate mousse it makes for a rich pairing. But, the passion fruit curd is by far the best part of this cake — it was creamy, fruity, and tart, which helped to cut down on the richness of the cake and mousse.
When you get all three flavors together, this is an incredibly well-balanced dessert. There’s nuttiness, and sweetness from the chocolate, and the fruity tartness of the passion fruit curd just tops it all off. This is another item with some more complex flavors, so it might not be the best for kiddos or those who don’t love fruity or tart desserts.
Head on over to Pinocchio Village Haus if these new items sound like they’re right up your alley — but hurry, you never know when they might switch things up and take these off the menu!
