We’ve seen Disney World reopen a LOT of different locations and experiences over the past several months, but some things still remain closed.
We’ve seen character meet and greets and meals return, buffets come back, and experiences reopen, like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. But, some major restaurants have remained closed, especially in EPCOT. We hadn’t heard a word about these dining spots until recently, when it was announced that Monsieur Paul would be reopening! And now, ANOTHER popular restaurant in EPCOT will be reopening SOON!
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall will be reopening on November 4th, 2022! This dining spot in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion will FINALLY be serving guests again soon — it’s been closed since the parks shut down in 2020 for the global pandemic.
This location serves up Norwegian-inspired food in a tucked-away castle, and is also a character meal! The Storybook Dining features the Disney Princesses, who you can interact and take pictures with during your meal.
What’s some of the food that will be on the menu again, you may ask? Well, Disney has shared that this dining option will return as a family-style dining experience and include things like Traditional KjØttkaker featuring Norwegian meatballs and the Kylling og Melboller, which is a Norwegian take on chicken and dumplings.
If you want something that’s more classic American-cuisine, you can get that here, too! Try out the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Grilled Salmon, and Macaroni & Cheese. And, for dessert, you can indulge in the Rice Cream with strawberry sauce and a Chocolate Roulade with lingonberry cream.
Reservations will be open for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall starting October 24th, so make sure to set your reminders now!
We’ll keep you updated on Akershus’ reopening, but for now, you can find out more about Monsieur Paul’s reopening in EPCOT’s France Pavilion. Find out what the new menu will look like, how much it will cost, details about reservations, and more.

AJ, you said there was a ride you had “exiled,” but I never heard which one it was.

Man, they always bring stuff back just after I leave, lol. This one has been closed for a ridiculously long time considering nearly everything else opened- I wonder if the chefs & cooks were all actually Norwegian and just couldn’t return?
Also, I wonder if the characters show up at the meals when it reopens- they still aren’t there at the Royal Table, though you can get pics with Cinderella. As this is your only chance for a normal meet & greet with Belle in her royal gown, hopefully that at least comes back.

Finally !!! I hope it returns the way it was and not like Cinderellas Royal table and Be our guest. We just left BOG and the beast just does a drive by walk. He doesn’t meet you in the room in the front like he used to.
