There has been a LOT of big news about Disney World restaurants this past week!
First, we saw a TON of price increases at restaurants, but at the same time, Monsieur Paul finally reopened, AND we got a reopening date for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, both in EPCOT. Now, we’ve got a little bit of a sneak peek at what some things in an upcoming restaurant will look like!
A Disney Parks video about a tour of Disney’s Flavor Lab has revealed some new details about Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which is currently under construction in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The restaurant, which is set to open in 2022 will be set up to look like a play arena set up by Andy!
Guests will dine amid “play sets” while fun “rodeo festivities” take place during the BBQ meal. It will be “a delicious barbecue-forward concept with some characters that you definitely know”
Now, we know a little more about some of the restaurant’s details, including the plates. As of now, the REAL plates, which are made of bone china, could be designed to look like paper plates — how cool is that?
We also see some of the other fun details that are expected to come to the restaurant. It looks like the glasses are made like Mason jars and, yes, that’s a container of toy soldiers on the table, too! The video does stress that this is all a work in progress and that things could change before the restaurant opens!
You can watch the full video below:
Disney has not yet announced an official opening date for the restaurant, but we’ve been keeping an eye on the construction progress, although much of it remains behind a big wall in Toy Story Land.
We’ll let you know when we get more information, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more. In the meantime, if you get hungry in Toy Story Land, be sure to check out Woody’s Lunch Box, where you can find one of the best Grilled Cheese sandwiches (and TOTCHOS!) in Disney World!
If you do plan on eating at Woody’s Lunch Box, though, be sure you place that mobile order early! We’ve seen long lines here, especially recently, so ordering early guarantees you get to eat when you want to!

How difficult is it to make a cheese toastie. Even I can make one using a George Foreman!
Ronjon says
Still definite opening date. Kind of hard to plan a visit and/or vacation and go to the restaurant if you don’t know when exactly it is going open. Especially with the mandatory reservation system they still make everybody do.

Would love to go- when is it opening?
