If you haven’t stayed at a Disney World hotel in a while, then you might be surprised by some of the big changes going on!
Many of Disney World’s resorts have gotten room updates and renovations recently, and changes like the end of Disney’s Magical Express and Extra Magic Hours converting to Early Theme Park Entry might be challenging to navigate. But besides those big updates, there are some smaller changes we’ve seen recently at the Disney hotels, and we’re sharing them all here!
Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Food Updates
River Roost Lounge
Let’s start things out at the River Roost Lounge, where there are some brand-new food and drink items we tried this week! First we ordered the French 75 which is made with Argyle Sparkling Brut, Hendricks Gin, Lemon Juice, and Pure Cane Sugar. It’s $15.50.
We also tried a new plant-based option, the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, served with Cornbread Crostinis for $14. It was surprisingly creamy for something that wasn’t made with dairy products!
Both of these items are available daily from 5PM to 12AM at the River Roost Lounge. Make sure to check out our review to get the full details!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Construction Updates
New Disney Vacation Club Villas Construction
Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we’ve been watching construction closely on the new Disney Vacation Club villas. So far, the land has been cleared of the former buildings, and it seems like Disney’s getting ready to go vertical with the project.
This week, some containers arrived onsite, and more dirt has been moved around. We’ll continue watching to see when structures appear. We can’t wait to see what it looks like completed!

BoardWalk Inn Merchandise Updates
Dundy’s Sundries
Our final big update is over at the BoardWalk Inn, where Dundy’s Sundries, the gift shop right next to the lobby, has closed. Guests can still do their shopping for souvenirs outside the lobby at Screen Door General Store on the BoardWalk.
There’s a planned refurbishment for the lobby at the BoardWalk Inn, so it’s likely that this closure is one of the first steps in the transformation. The windows were completely covered and we could hear construction noises coming from inside, so maybe we’ll get some big changes here soon!

That’s everything new that we spotted at the Disney World hotels this week! We’ll continue visiting, especially as the holiday season kicks off, to check out all the offerings. Soon, these resorts will be decorated with Christmas trees and gingerbread houses — we can’t wait!
