The pumpkins and skeletons had their time in the spotlight, but now it’s time for the season of the turkey to take over! We’re starting to celebrate Thanksgiving in Disney World, and what better way to celebrate this holiday than with some new treats?
There are a lot of new eats coming to Disney World this month in honor of Thanksgiving — we’re talking 50+ eats, treats, and drinks at the various Disney World hotels and parks. So which should you choose during your upcoming vacation? Don’t worry — we’re reviewing a bunch of them so that you know which are worth your time and money. Come with us to try out a fancy new dessert at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
At the Landscape of Flavors food court at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, you can find the Maple Pot de Crème. This treat is also available over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, at the Everything POP Shopping & Dining food court.
What exactly is a Maple Pot de Crème, you may ask? This is a custard dessert that’s infused with maple flavor, topped with chantilly cream, and finished off with a few leaf-shaped sugar cookies. It’s available for $5.79 from now until November 27th.
It’s actually a rather cute treat, served in a small metal cup with the cookies stuffed in the top. To us, that flavor of maple was absolutely spot-on, and it was one of our favorite Thanksgiving-themed snacks that we tried! It reminds us a lot of maple syrup…does that mean it counts for breakfast? We’re going to say yes.
It’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Although, you might want to enlist a friend to help you finish it if you’re particularly averse to sugary treats. The sugar cookies were soft, but sitting in the creme made the bottom halves a slightly mushier texture than the top half. They had a bit of a “fall spice” flavor to them.
The creme itself was the perfect texture, very smooth and easy on the palette. The top developed a slight “shell” that we had to puncture with our spoon, but it wasn’t off-putting in the slightest. All in all, it was quite delicious!
If you’re not staying at the Art of Animation or Pop Century hotels but you still want to try this new treat, don’t forget that both hotels are located on the Disney Skyliner route. So it’s not too difficult to hop on the Skyliner from EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios and make your way to either hotel!
