The holiday season in Disney World means new merchandise, special events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and special ride overlays. But one of our favorite things about this season is seeing all of the beautiful decorations at the parks and hotels!
The iconic Christmas tree is up over at Magic Kingdom, the giant gingerbread house is being decorated at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and we’ve even spotted snowflakes in EPCOT. A few decorations came to Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier, but now even MORE are up in this park. Come with us to check them out!
The first holiday decorations appeared in Hollywood Studios before Halloween, on October 27th. However, this round of decor only included the red and silver stars on Sunset Boulevard.
When we visited Hollywood Studios today, we saw a LOT more festive cheer in this park! The first thing we noticed was the big garland right at the entrance, which is full of colorful ornaments.
Heading inside, we saw more decorations, including some wreaths, on the buildings along Hollywood Boulevard…
…along with stars, ornaments, and garland hung over the street.
The light posts were decorated as well! Some of them had shooting stars…
…and others were decked out in full-on Christmas trees.
Once we reached Echo Lake, we saw that this area was also ready for the festive season. Dinosaur Gertie has donned her Santa hat and is holding an ornament in her mouth (which has Disney World’s 50th anniversary logo on it).
The lake is full of ornaments as well! These ornaments light up at night and look beautiful.
The big Christmas tree hasn’t yet been put up in the middle of the lake, but we’ll keep an eye out for it to hopefully arrive soon.
A couple of restaurants also were decorated for the season, including 50’s Prime Time Café…
…and Trolley Car Café (this park’s Starbucks location).
And those were all of the new additions we spotted at Hollywood Studios today! Want to learn more about the holidays in Disney World? Check out these posts:
