Character dining has returned to many different Disney World restaurants!
Members of the Hundred Acre Wood are back at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom, Lilo and Stitch have returned to breakfast at ‘Ohana, and Minnie and her pals are once again greeting diners at Cape May Cafe in Disney’s Beach Club. The Disney Princess character dining restaurant Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has been closed since 2020 but is finally reopening today!
It’s time to make your dining plans — Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has reopened EPCOT! The restaurant officially reopened on November 4th, 2022 for the first time since 2020.
You can head to Disney World’s website to make your reservation now. Remember that you can make dining reservations 60 days prior to your visit, so depending on when your trip is scheduled, you may want to mark your eligible date on the calendar.
There have been some changes to the menu at Akershus but it will reopen with Disney Princesses once again visiting diners with Storybook Dining. Disney has shared that this dining option will return as a family-style dining experience and include things like Traditional KjØttkaker featuring Norwegian meatballs and the Kylling og Melboller, which is a Norwegian take on chicken and dumplings.
We were able to get a dining reservation at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall on reopening day, so stay tuned for our FULL review. For now, let’s see what the reopened Akershus is like! Cast Members were stationed out front celebrating the restaurant’s reopening!

And it looks like we weren’t the only ones trying to get in, as quite a large crowd had gathered.
We walked into Akershus and sat down at our table…
…and we were immediately greeted by Disney Princesses — like Ariel!
