Disney World was meant to change and grow, so that means that there are constant construction projects going on.
Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, a lot has been going on: Kona Cafe got a makeover, while there’s still construction happening on the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas that are being built there. So let’s take a look at the latest updates!
When we last took a look at the construction area of the DVC villas, it was pretty much just a lot of dirt. There was also some standing water at the site in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Now, though, the area is dry and it looks like the latest work has been in removing some trees around the edge of the site.
Several digger vehicles are on site.
There are also now dumpsters on the site, where the workers are putting debris and rubble.
The concrete barriers we saw previously at the edge of the site have been removed and are now set to the side of the site.
Meanwhile, Kona Cafe’s construction is complete and the restaurant has reopened with a new look.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on all the construction at Disney World and keep you updated. We’ll also let you know when we get more details about the new DVC villas being built at the Polynesian. Stay tuned to DFB for more.
If you’re worried about construction affecting an upcoming trip, most of this work only takes place during the day and doesn’t interrupt guests during sleeping hours. However, if you think it might be an issue, be sure to contact Disney World to express your concerns — they may be able to accommodate you in a different room or resort.

Do we know in the new DVC tower what villas they will have? Is it just going to be more Studios or will they now have a 1 Bed room villa?
