Tropical Storm Nicole is expected to continue to bring clouds, rain and wind to Central Florida today, with the potential for more severe weather starting tonight.
Disney World is changing aspects of its operations, as well as closing certain areas, ahead of the storm. Here’s a look at how the storm may affect your Disney World vacation.
Cancelations and Closures
Park Closures
Walt Disney World Resort theme parks will start closing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9th. Disney has said that those guests staying in resorts are encouraged to eat dinner at the parks before returning to their hotels. Here are the specifics on park closings and dining reservations:
- Animal Kingdom will close on Wednesday, November 9th, at 5 p.m., with last dining reservations at 5 p.m.
- Hollywood Studios will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th, with last dining reservations at 6 p.m.
- Magic Kingdom will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th. Last dining reservations for Be Our Guest, Liberty Tree Tavern, Diamond Horseshoe and Cinderella’s Royal Table will be at 6 p.m., and last dining for all other dining locations will be at 6:30 p.m.
- EPCOT will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th. Last dining reservations for Monsieur Paul, Space 220 Restaurant, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Garden Grill Restaurant will be at 6 p.m., and last dining for all other dining reservations will be at 6:30 p.m.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closed Thursday, November 10th. Disney announced that it may reopen on November 11th.
Disney World has said that its parks are not likely to re-open at their scheduled times on Thursday, November 10th. There’s no word yet on what time they will re-open on Thursday, if they open.
Disney Springs
Disney Springs is closing early — at 7 pm Wednesday, November 9th — with last dining reservations at 6:30pm at Disney Springs restaurants. Disney Springs will remain closed the morning of Thursday, November 10th. Disney has not set a re-opening time.
Disney Resorts
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is closing at 3pm on Wednesday, November 9th. Disney World says it is contacting guests to help them find alternate accommodations.
Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort is closing at 3pm on Wednesday, November 9th. Disney says it is contacting guests to help them find another place to stay.
Disney World says all other resorts will remain open.
UPDATE: All Disney World resort hotels have now reopened.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The Galactic Starcruiser voyage set to begin on Thursday, November 10th, has been canceled. Disney World says it is contacting guests with reservations.
UPDATE: The Starcruiser will resume operations with voyages on November 12th.
Extended Evening Hours
Disney World has canceled the Extended Evening Hours offered to certain guests tonight — Wednesday, November 9th — in Magic Kingdom.
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is no longer showing hours on the website or on My Disney Experience for November 9th or 10th. You can read more about the Fantasmic! and Extended Evening Hour cancelations here.
Harmonious
EPCOT’s Harmonious nighttime spectacular is canceled for November 9th.
Disney Enchantment
Disney Enchantment — the nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom — is canceled for November 9th.
Disney World Entertainment & Extras
Disney World says that cancellation policies for dining and special experiences are not in effect at this time. If you have a reservation for an experience that is pre-paid and will now be closed, your reservation will be automatically canceled and refunded.
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue performances have been canceled for Wednesday, November 9th.
The Ferrytale Fireworks dessert cruise has been canceled for Wednesday, November 9th.
Guests with pre-paid reservations for Savi’s Workshop during the time of the park closures will be refunded.
Guests with pre-paid reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique during the time of the park closures will be refunded.
Character Breakfasts
Disney World says character breakfasts at its resort hotels will not include characters on Thursday, November 10th, to accommodate more guests in the restaurants at that time.
Miniature Golf
The following Disney World miniature golf locations will close at 7pm on Wednesday, November 9th and remain closed Thursday, November 10th:
- Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
- Fantasia Gardens
- Fairways Miniature Golf
Disney has announced that the Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens miniature golf courses may reopen on November 11th.
Disney Bus Transportation
Disney Bus Transportation from Disney Springs will end at 8pm on Wednesday, November 9th.
UPDATE: Disney transportation is now operating as normal.
Hotel Availability
Disney World is not accepting new reservations that start today — Wednesday, November 9th — at any of its resorts. Click here for more details.
Park Pass Availability
Disney World is not accepting any new park pass reservations for Thursday, November 10th, or Friday, November 11th. Click here for more details.
Trip Refunds and Cancelations
Disney has shared with Travel Agents that, “Guests may reschedule their trip or cancel their stay with us; any customary cancellation fees will be waived.”
Airport Closures
Orlando International Airport has announced that it will temporarily cease operations at 4pm on Wednesday, November 9th, until the dangers of the storm have passed. Airport officials advise you to work with your airline on flight cancelations. Click here for more details.
Airport Transportation
The Sunshine Flyer bus service has canceled all trips after 4pm on Wednesday, November 9th, and all day on Thursday, November 10th. The bus service says reservations will be automatically canceled and refunded.
