Central Florida has been hit hard by the hurricane season this year.
First, Hurricane Ian caused heavy rainfall, winds, flooding, and closures at Disney World back in September. Now, Tropical Storm Nicole is on its way, and there are some important Disney World updates you need to know if you’re traveling currently or soon.
Due to the storm, Disney World has announced a change in its cancelation policy temporarily. At this time, guests may cancel or reschedule their trips, and all cancelation fees will be waived.
Disney is closely monitoring the weather and making decisions based on the projected impact. At this time, the theme parks are beginning a phased closure at 5PM on Wednesday, November 9th that will last through the morning of Thursday, November 10th. The theme parks will likely not open at their regularly scheduled times on Thursday.
Disney Springs will be closing early on November 9th at 7PM, and the last dinner reservations will be at 6:30PM. It will remain closed through Thursday morning. Bus transportation from Disney Springs to the resorts will operate until 8PM on the 9th.
As far as hotels go, guests staying at Fort Wilderness and guests staying at the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs will be required to depart by 3PM on November 9th. Disney is working with those guests to help find alternate accommodations.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage that’s scheduled to begin on November 10th will be canceled — Disney is contacting those guests now.
Some additional experiences are modified or canceled as well. Character breakfasts at the hotels will not include characters on November 10th, so that the restaurants can accommodate more hotel guests for dining purposes. Walt Disney World Water Parks and Miniature Golf locations are temporarily closed on Thursday, November 10th as well.
We’ll continue to monitor the latest closure information and keep you updated on everything you need to know. If you have an upcoming reservation that will be affected by these closures, Disney is reaching out to you soon. Expect high wait times on Disney World phone lines today.
