There are so many ways to celebrate the holiday season in Disney World — and not all of them require a ticket.
If you have the budget, you can check out all the decorations inside each Disney Park, or even buy a ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but you can also enjoy some of the most iconic holiday displays inside Disney World hotels! One such display is now officially open and we’re taking you with us to check it out.
The life-size gingerbread house in Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa is officially OPEN! You can find it in the lobby of the Grand Floridan this holiday season. Also, from 9:30AM to 9PM, you can shop for some special treats!
This gingerbread house truly is enormous, and it’s quite a sight! If you have time to stop by Grand Floridian during your holiday visit, it’s totally worth it.
Look who’s OPEN! 🤩❄️

It takes a while to construct the gingerbread house and this season we observed Cast Members painstakingly applying all the gingerbread shingles and other tiny details. Did you know that this house requires 1,050 pounds of honey??
Disney World is still celebrating its 50th anniversary, so there are lots of EARidescent details to see (just like last year). Can you find the hidden Mickey?
You can spot characters on the gingerbread house too, like Winnie the Pooh…
…and Belle and the Beast!
Santa is also present, of course. We love the teeny tiny hanging ornaments in the windows!
There are lots of sweet treats to try too, but how do you decide which ones to get?? We saw lots of people in line trying to make that same decision. Do you want one gingerbread cookie or two (or three?)??

You can also go big with a Grand Gift Box for $60 or even get the 50th Gingerbread House for $85. Click here to see what we thought of some of the treats!
The gingerbread house treats shop will be open every day from 9:30AM to 9PM, and if you’re visiting Disney World this holiday season it might be worth it to stop by and check it out! Note that you can still see the gingerbread house outside of those hours — you just can’t shop for treats.
Remember that the Grand Floridian is a short Monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom, and stopping by can be a great opportunity to take a break from a busy park day. If you keep riding the Monorail, you can also catch the gingerbread display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and if you’re visiting EPCOT, you can also take a short walk to Disney’s Beach Club for the gingerbread carousel.

Margaret says
Where do you park to see the gingerbread house? I actually have passes but they don’t include thanksgiving day which is when we we are planning to go.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Margaret! You can still park at the Magic Kingdom Ticket and Transportation Center and take the monorail or walk over. 🙂
Sue says
Where can we get the bus in Disney springs to go to the grand Floridian? Is there a charge to see the giant gingerbread house?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Sue! The Disney Springs bus terminal is near Town Center, close to the Lime Garage. There is no fee to get into the Grand Floridian or see the Gingerbread House. You can buy treats from the house, however.
Sheila says
We tried to go to AKL on Saturday to see their decorations and were turned away at the gate. Is Grabd Floridian letting people park there to see the gingerbread house?
John says
are they selling the gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club resort?
